Explosive pack Problem

Absolutely agree, shouldn’t be affected by the throwing distance buff either, but as I said, in my honest opinion simply making armor actually work against them would be great.
You’d have to actually throw them under the tank or ontop of the roof in order for it to work, I can literally just cook it long enough to explode on impact and it’ll instakill the tank anywhere i hit it.

In my opinion bigger problem than explosion packs themselves, are suicide AT actions. Your tank may be surrounded by friendly infantry but one suicide-boy with explosive pack will take down you and 5 of those infantryman if he has 1s to act.

With planes not giving exp for kills after suicide seems to work but in case of infantry vs tanks it won’t work. Even if you aren’t rewarded by points, taking down a tank is too important for your victory, to cary about exp.

exp packs don’t need to be nerfed but they do need some balance … right now their is real no point in using bombers.

I would like to see them immobilize but not totally kill a tank unless 3 or more are used.

I kind of feel the same way. I like how they control tanks and their usefulness; however, they are clearly the best grenade slot by a mile and when compared to the German AT rifle way better in Moscow.

Shouldn’t there be some sort of more complex decision making process going on than “Put Explosive packs on everyone and use them for everything.”

Absolutely agree, theres currently no real point in bringing regular grenades, molotovs or smokes along.
Either its explosive packs or nothing, unless its the occasional new player but that guy will quickly find out about the going-ons…

Maybe make them stronger able to take out tanks easier; however, much shorter range. A big satchel…

So maybe give explosive packs a longer timer and buff molotovs and smoke?

Right now you can yeet packs at hilariously long distances. Was on the roof, lobbed it all the way across the street, something like 30-40 meters. The tanker was surrounded by friendly infantry and was being cautious. In Normandy I’ve got blown out multiple times at infantry spawn, because it’s super easy to get close there.

The main issue was already said many times, it’s not that tanks are so easy to kill with a pack itself, but the fact that the rest of the methods become irrelevant. The same mechanics is used in Darkest Hour mod for Red Orchestra, the key difference is the size of the maps. On bigger and more open maps, it becomes more difficult to just run to the tank so close, but not a problem in urban/dense area. And AT rifles work just fine as you engage tank under 100 meters instead of under 30 like we do here.

If explosive packs were nerfed too much, tanks would run rampant as it is the only somewhat consistent way of killing them. Handheld AT weapons, like the Sturmpistole, are really inconsistent and cannot really be relied on all that much.

Fix armor models first, talk AT infantry nerfs later.

Handheld AT weapons need a buff indeed. I see little advantage in using a bomber troop when I can just hold a tnt in hand and run suicide bombing into a tank.

maybe they could slightly nerf the postpen damage of explosive packs a bit, and decrease module health while theyre at it so smaller effects like broken tracks become more common instead of a simple 1hit KO

They don’t really need a buff, the damage models simply have to be made more consistent. They deal plenty of damage when not getting screwed over by RNG.

Maybe calm down on the vehicle spam and there wont be such impetus to load every single soldier with TNT?

Currently no consequence for revolving door of tank spam.

explosive packs are the biggest tank killer and nerf . when droped on top (where tank armor is lowest) or under ,they are effective ! as they wore and should be !

I absolutely agree with this but I also question why they are adding more tanks when the armor models still have issues …

Explosive packs need to be limited either to AT or Engineers - arguably we could live with both. The Explosive pack spam and shitty terrain are significant detractors to the enjoyment of AFV play. Many of the maps are stupidly over cluttered, and whilst the tanks are suitably hobbled for vision, and the turret traverse rate for many tanks is wrong. There is also a huge disparity in the speed of infantry movement in game. Most of the infantry run like they’re gold medalist sprinters and weightlifters combined, not to mention the jump trooper abilities once the perks kick in, but I digress.
Please adjust the Explosive packs because they are runining a significant aspect of the game.

That would be significant buff to tankers. Tanks don’t need any more buffs. Some people want to nerf tanks even more and I don’t agree with that too.
