I disagree. The new AA deals enough damage to shoot down aircrafts.
The AA trucks deal damage but without the tanker perk, it doesn’t rotate as it should.
I hit my targets and they fly off, how is that enough damage`?

Current AA are pretty okay, a well balanced I would say. I guess your are just bad.
I killed 3 planes with them during recent match (not AI bombers)

all hits no damage, no problem with the servers, you guys are delusional, if you take down planes because they suicide dive, its a proof that the “hit” system is not broken what so ever, the game knows pretty well that you hit your targets, those hits just don’t do anything.
sure there are random luck hits that will one shot kill a plane, yet even plane to plane combat is busted because damage doesn’t work properly.
Yeah, that’s exactly what didn’t happen. I guess you just cannot accept you’re not good with current AAs. Who cares? Current AAs are okay so it probably will not change.

seriously, just a short burst of any weapon towards a suicide diver will grant you the kill, simply because HITS DO CONNECT, just like AA gun shots, but most shots will not deal any damage at all.

well i agree that new AA suck. they have shitty angles, overheat easily, have low ammo, low damage or shit registration. can i kill planes with it? yes, but sometimes i need plane to pass 3-4 times.
I thought the devs were fixing these and it was a known issue, the main issue is lack of damage indicator imho, or sometimes it works but very rarely.

I mean planes aren’t even king, they are only good as a one time use guided suicide missile to revenge kill enemy tanks.
Still, being practically immortal is an incredibly ridiculous game design.
US and German AA guns are no problem for me, but Soviet AA guns are still not available to me.
Perhaps it takes some technique to use them…I find them a bit more difficult than other countries.
I wish someone could give me some TIPS on how to hit it well.
Planes in general are too tanky. Doesn’t help that Hispano cannon damage is still bugged.
The ridiculous “Flight stamina” BS that makes your plane stop turning has to go too, but that’s another topic.
In my personal opinion, I have no problem with the AA in the US, UK and Germany as it is now. It is true that it is less powerful than the 4-round flak, but I feel that the previous AA was too powerful, so the current balance is good.
I think that the main part of anti-aircraft defense is friendly fighters, so even if you cannot shoot them down with AA, if you can take away the maneuverability of enemy aircraft, you can say that they are fulfilling their role as infantrymen’s mission.
The former AA could shoot down almost 100% of enemy planes if they were caught in its range. By the time the enemy plane realized it had been shot, it was too late. The power was so strong that little technique was needed.

When I started the game, my team was very weak and the opposing team had a bias toward advanced players. AA was the best way for me to score in such a situation.
Even in such a situation, when I was building and camping AA, I was able to exert such an influence that no one on the other team would get on an aircraft…
Aircraft play a big role in this game, for example, their presence is essential to destroy tanks attacking from the gray zone, and CAS on the front line is also important.
The engineers have no sortie limit and anyone can build an AA. We must avoid a balance in which aircraft are not allowed to fly just because there is one such AA.

If they are flying straight in and your “one burst” is 7-10 hits then I agree, it should be coming down. However catching it with only 1-2 hits on the side should not.
I will agree that the new AA damage system is a problem, as it changes where you should be aiming due to odd damage calculation. So now instead of trying to land shots it critical areas of the plane, you actually want to hit NON-critical areas repeatedly.
(The damage in the initial hit area is less and the fragmentation damage is what you have to rely on. I really hope they fix this soon, or at the very least give us flak shells that can airburst if they wish to keep this damage calculation method.)
when plane is diving in straight line towards you, then there is no problem shooting the plane. but if plane is coming at an angle you will see the problem.
AA need to be rebalanced. first they need to remove angle limitations cause they are not invincible infantry killers like they were before. then they need to remove overheat (or reduce it) and increase ammo capacity of some guns (think that one AA has 10/20 ammo).
I have been hit by Gaz AA while driving JU-87, it only caused minor damage and I didn’t feel any impact.
Generally, if AA shell hits the fuselage, it will hardly have any effect. Even if it hits the wing, it still requires multiple hits to break wing apart.
