Even fight: France 1940

While immersive and authentic France 1940 is nearly impossible with our current BR system where even on BR1 we already have American, Italian and Volkssturm late war stuff, we could at least somewhat depict the France 1940 campaign as an ‘Even fight’ gameplay event.

• German, British and French voicelines
• Normandy maps (not exactly Dunkirk, but close) and Ardennes maps (if they can be turned into spring/summer)
• German and British uniforms (kind of 1940)

If they just use omer, gare the saint lo and other inland maps it could work. All the coastal maps could be left out

Yes, all those French things that are in the game definitely deserve to be collected together in one event.

France vs Italy - Gameplay Event

I propose creating a gameplay event about the confrontation between France and Italy. Italian weaponry - you can use the Italian weapons from the current event as a template, but replace the tanks - Pz-4 for points earned during the battle and the M14/41 for free. French weaponry - you can use the British weapons from the current event as a template, but replace all rifles with the MAS-36, all submachine guns with the MAS-38, and all machine guns with the Chattlerault-1924/39. Tanks - Char-B1 …

MP 28/34(ö)/38/40

The in game MP40 is marked as bnz-41, which means it was made by Steyr in 1941 and based on the modifications it has, its a mid to late '41 production, not to mention the magazine which is from 1942.
MP38 also has the '42 magazine.

In early 1942 the smooth magazine was replaced with a ribbed one, with guiding rails added inside that massively increased reliability. Earlier smooth magazines were recalled by 1943.

As with all “even fight” events… i am against them as they aren’t what i play the game for however can respect those that want a historically accurate atmosphere.

Again ill note the imbalances… MP series vs the BR3 thompson?

MG 34 vs shit top loading frenchie MG and shit sight lewis gun?

PZ 38 absolutely abysmal 37mm vs daimler 40mm? The mg on 38t is nice but the besa is superior.

PZ 4 E vs a13 and matilda?

I know it’s “even fight”, but if we are going to make a historical BEF, then I think that should be done without any SMGs in their line-up, at all.

On a operational level, the Brits did not start using SMGs until after Dunkirk.

Thanks for pointing that out.

However, I would still take MP-40 even with its 1941 magazine for an event like this.

It’s a tiny bit less barf-inducing than Chinese boys with Silenced PPSh in Stalingrad or Su-9 1946 over Rzhev.
