Equipment Swapping Between Reserve and Squad Soldiers of Same Classes 1, 2, & 3

It would be really handy to be able to have equipment be swapped between the same classes of different levels. Any ineligible equipment would just go back to the inventory to be manually equipped elsewhere.

For example, say you have a trooper level 1 in a squad, and you want to replace it with trooper level 2 from reserve, you should be able to swap equipment as if they were both trooper level 1. The backpack slots, grenades, and medpacks, etc become cumbersome to continuously unequip and reequip when you start gaining higher level soldiers (Trooper 2, Assulter 2, Gunner 2, etc) of the same classes.

It would also be nice to have all the same classes grouped together in the reserve. Otherwise you are hunting through the reserve to find a soldier you need to train up hidden between bombers, troopers, radiomen, and other “eligible” but not relevant soldiers to the squad your building. This would also make sending a soldier “to the rear” less time consuming.

Agree. On my persuit of leveling everyone to level 5 I still cant understand why I can’t quick squad gear from a trooper lvl 1 to a trooper lvl 2 where both can equip the exact same equipment.

Indeed the reserve management needs to be improved. At the very least, we should have filters and or “sort by” commands, so that we don’t have to scroll up and down and visually search among all soldiers all the times.

Also yes, it would be useful to switch inventories among different levels of same classes, even if in case some slots are locked some items remain unequipped.

I agree, it seems silly to me to treat higher level soldiers of the same class as it they are completely different with respect to equipment.

An idea of multiple tier of the same class is horrible and lazy way to add grind as is. Yes, this extra micromanagement makes it worse. Effectively you have to keep places for assaulter one and assaulter two because of it - even when next class is completely developed and identical slot-wise.

Academy selection broken in previous patch makes initial tier useless, you cannot even use experienced soldiers of previous tier as a filler.

I hope they will get rid of that in future campaigns.

You can, BUT you have to either pay gold, use up academy orders, or go like 2 out of 3 and hope for good luck.

Yes, why not to add another engine of micromanagement and annoyance in futile hope people will pay a bit for that?

Academy “fix’ broke the whole idea of growing soldiers from tier 1. It is stupid to think people will be restoring it by paying for what barely was interesting for free.
