Enlisted Ranked Mode For Lone Fighters Only

So I’ve seen a few different articles that seem to be slating the idea of a ranked mode in Enlisted. The two main points that most of these articles make is that:

  1. You can’t play E-sports against bots
  2. A ranked game mode would give way for toxicity and cheating.

I mean only to discuss these points and put my own suggestion forward…

First of all, you’re right. You can’t play ranked against bots. But yesterday I played (for the first time) the Lone Fighters game mode, which puts 24 v 24 REAL PLAYERS against each other on a medium / small sized map. I got 5 minutes in and I wanted a ranked mode.

It just makes sense to do something similar to COD where you switch the game mode to Lone Fighters and it switches your UI to give you ONE squad that is with you forever, that you can customize, rename, level up, but most importantly, RANK UP, that you take into battle almost like weapon classes for you to switch to mid game, to cater to your lobby’s needs; It doesn’t have to become an E-sport, but a ranked mode would be very cool and I think it would bring thousands of competitive players to the Enlisted Comp scene.

Secondly, The only E-sport / Ranked game I’ve played that is a breeding ground for toxicity is Rocket League. The issue is that Psyonix does an AWFUL job at monitoring toxicity that I’m sure any other dev team could do far better… It would just take some trial and error to find the best system for toxicity… Even R6:Siege isn’t really that bad, especially with the reverse friendly fire and chat mute controls.

To summarize, an Enlisted ranked mode in the lone fighters section with it’s own customizable squad and ranking system could genuinely be incredible and it’s one of the main reasons that I’m maining Lone Fighters at the minute. In hope that one day soon, we get a Lone Fighters Ranked mode.

I guess this one should be sorted out before ranked mode, also it’s not clear for me how do you rank a killer machine not caring about objectives and an engineer putting all the required spawn points and ammunition for the team but scoring third of the kills?

I mean, the devs have already stated they want the game to be casual with no ranked mode. It doesn’t mean they can’t change their minds. But currently, Lone Fighters barely gets enough players to start matches so I doubt splitting the playerbase there would be a good idea. Also:

You must not have played many games with a Ranked Mode. Also… Rocket League? That is quite possibly the least toxic community in a ranked game because you can’t communicate outside of preset one word lines.

Ranked mode seems like a terrible idea, because it encourages people to play the most scum tactics avaliable, and also encourages meta chasing. Like the vehicle spam we saw in the first streamer cash giveaway for normandy where I PERSONALLY witnessed the winner spamming BF-110 rockets the whole match and then killing himself when he died to get back into the BF-110 to win super easily.

On the other hand, lone fighters bad, so go ahead.
