Keep shotguns for the assualters but let engineers use them as well …

Certainly not all classes, but I could see them being useful to the Engineer and radio ops rather than assaulters

The only reason y see to use a shotgun is for executing a downed soldier at close range, yet all starter rifle already do that and are able to do do much more.
Over all after the nerf shotguns simply fail to deliver at almost every role other than point Blank building camping and to be honest they get out classes at that by every single SMG and semi auto rifle out there.
I use the shotty just for fun but not because it’s necessarily better … And I have had some fun situations with clearing rooms with that thing …
It’s very very situational but fun when that situation comes up … definitely not something I would equip every soldier with but I would like to have the option of letting my engineers use it too…
