Engineers , explosives , and fortifications. How to fix it

So right now it seems like fortifications are a waste of time unless you want to cheese the map and build in places you shouldnt like cap points.

The reason for this is a single bomb strike or arty strike will wipe out a elaborate and well thought out sandbag bunker and leave barbed wire useless. So the only place to build is inside.

So how about this. Aircraft bombs and artillery no longer have any effect on engineer structures.

Instead. We take the current “det pack” and nerf it so it has a smaller “lethality” radius for combat. But its ability to destroy fortifications is much more effective.

Instead of the “Det pack” being the “large explosion” grenade. We add a new item/weapon which is the satchel charge. You only get one and it takes up a bunch of slots. And if you throw it in a room/bunker everyone dies. Also has a very small throw distance

This way everyone is happy.

i kind of like it but how about that the artie/bombs need direct hits?

So not only I will be unable to secure my bunker, but also enemy will be able to wipe out everyone inside with satchel charge thrown through the slit?
Sory but no. Now I can least survive grenade spam.

(I suspect that you also want to remove option to build on points.)

But I agree that sandbags, hedgehogs and maybe BBwire should require direct hit to be destroyed.

Cap points are the exact places where fortifications should be placed…

It takes literally one detpack to destroy sandbags and 2 to destroy barbed wire. With barbed wire not stackable anymore that are really reasonable values.

I don’t see the need for that honestly.

you can secure your bunker from the outside

you dont build barb wire and sandbag bunkers inside.

If I would have time to do this then sure. But I won’t risk being sniped to place some sand outside because I have no other choise.
And “don’t build fortifications if you are scared” in not an answer.

i mean it is you should build your fortifications on invasion on the phase before the attack
