That would be nice but if it’s gonna be large scale with lots a players I hope there’s multiple points to capture (say invasion) to avoid points being overly crowded. Would also be cool if the capture points would be bigger.
I would say it’d encompass all the landing sites of D-Day with each site having its own dynamic objectives like how they reworked invasion. That would at least allow the allies to push into Normandy in some spots then they could flank the areas they were unable to directly assault. Then afterwards objectives would dynamically pop up throughout the map as they pushed inland.
I know what they are… and while they were not Wehrmacht, they were most certainly military - as were, say the British Home Guard.
Otherwise they get to be shot out of hand when captured as armed civilian franc-tirailleurs! Which htey were obviously not! (the same questions were raised about the Home Guard in 1940 and the Germans did threaten to do just that if they had invaded)
The flip side of taking away AT grenades (or expl packs) in 1945 at least, is allowing every soldier to carry a PzFaust for the Germans.
But that also requires a “realistic” battle setup, where the Germans are always defending and much of their forces are Volkssturm… and again, that is not what Enlisted is - it is a “balanced” arcade game with little realism beyond fabulous modelling.
For your idea of “all out war” there is a great game system “Combat Mission” - it’s 20 years old now, but htey are still going strong - it is company → battalion scale, with strict historical units and equipment, and a “we-go” method of plotting turns for all your units a minute at a time, then both sides resolve at once and interact.
As a result it has many mechanisms that would need to be in any sort of realistic larger scale battle mod, such as off-board artillery and airstrikes - you do not get to see artillery or aircraft - only their fire and effects.
There is room for heavy weapons in the battle - a few artillery pieces (generally small-medium - up to 75mm /25 pdr IIRC), anti tanks guns, mortars, etc.
There is morale for troops - they will get pinned, neutralized and panicked, there’s arcs of coverage - you tell them to look in this particular direction, modes of movement - “hunting” - slow movement until you see an enemy, searching for hull down, running, crawling, “pepper-potting” etc.
Unfortunately it is not RTS is it’s main drawback.
And of course it isn’t FPS - but that’s not a drawback to me!
Not true,
These are Fallschirmjäger zu Fuss (Paratroopers on Foot), 1945 at Oderbruch (Eastgermany).
To be more exact its the 26th Fallschirmjäger Regiment. They fought under Skorzeny who managed the defence at Bridgehead Schwedt.
OHH SO i suppose that EVERY SINGLE SOLDIER had a AT weapon?
the fact that sniper squads or mortar squads get AT equipment validates our point that det pac’s are way to available
also your picture is of the fallschirmjager, they are basically special force and they also seem to have STG44’s
ther were 10 divisions of Fallschirmjager at he end of hte war - they hadn’t been “Special forces” for a long time
Get over it - ther is so much a-historical nonsense in Enlisted that explosive packs are not much of an issue, and without them tanks would be too powerful.
the worst case scenario will definitely happen, mainly for axis side
raped by tank as lv 1 soldier
tank would be literally immortal considering how rare it is to see any AT gunner, especially german side in normandy only have garbage sturmpistole until lv 30 to get panzerfaust but however it still not that effective against jumbo plus the grind will take hundred of hours to get
new players might just quit the game because how shit the balance is, same case with CAS
I agree with this one, it is literally not possible to do anything against Allied Tanks on Normandy without AT nades until after level 30. 1 or 2 higher-tier players will not correct the imbalance from the removal of AT grenades. In addition, a fundamental aspect of this game is that even a lvl 1 player has the means to take out a lvl 30 player, which requires AT nades to be available to a new player.
i did not say that they WERE i said that they BASICALLY WERE
and since the DET pac is so availalbe the only viable to use a tank as a tank is to hide in the out of bounds area but people still have a problem with that
A pedantic attempt to not be wrong - no, they BASICALLY were not!
Like all para’s of the era they were very highly trained infantry who were also trained ot jump from aeroplanes (until they were not) - NOT anything even vaguely resembling “special forces”.
Ah I see I don’t know enough or care enough about German units to care whether they should get more AT or not equally so for soviet scum the easiest way to balance armor is to give infantry stuff to deal with it det packs are annoying but necessary.
