For those that have time into Normandy Campaign, I’m sure you are familiar with the balloons around the map. If you are a pilot, you know they CAN be rather devastating to aircraft.
I’d like to see it as an option to put these up as an option to counter low flying aircraft. Just an addition that could go a long way.
Does these balloon strings do a thing even? I think not. So it’s kinda pointless currently imho. But I may be wrong.

The Ballons are held by a steel wire wich is infamously known for clipping plane wings.
Yeah, I know this very well. But I don’t think it’s working ingame rn. I have never been destroyed with this wire. And I think I flighted right beneath balloons few times.
But I don’t remember very well, I did not play planes very often because bugged crew of JU 188.
I have definitely hit a wire before when flying by a balloon. You’ve probably just never been close enough: the wingspan of a p-47 thunderbolt is 12m, so you’d have to pass within 6m of the wire to come into contact.
I think it’s better to just shoot them down. I’ve never been downed by a balloon and they can easily be shot. The risk of letting the enemy get more tickets us far greater than the reward of clipping a plane wing and not even recieving the kill.
They clip plane wings pretty often if you force a dogfight in the area, or if you force an attack plane off course.
Being able to set them up as an Engineer could really be helpful against low-flying aircraft.

Man, the only thing you seem to be doing is building, building and dismantling.
Do you ever use your gun?
I do in fact. I’m usually in top 3 in regards to kills. Avg is about 85-95 kills a game.
The reason I do so much building is because without it, we would get our teeth kicked in EVERY SINGLE GAME, because outside of the group I play with, the other teammates avg about 20-30 kills each, with an avg of 12-15 squad deaths each. We have to carry the entire team every time, and my building picks up the slack most of the time.
