Engineer Defenses

It seems counter intuitive to let people literally walk up and just dismantle your barbed wire or sandbags without the use of explosives. I understand the need for in case a teammate blocks the rest of the team inside of an objective/building, but it’s ridiculous that an enemy can just run up to it and hold down a button to dismantle it. I think this feature should be restricted to only being able to dismantle friendly fortifications and only as an engineer.

At least it should take a lot longer to dismantle ENEMY fortifications

It’s already “long” for battle pace, unless the guy is also an engineer (those guys dismantle faster) and dismantling also does a very characteristic sound which I often use to know when a enemy is trying to get in :stuck_out_tongue:

I dunno, still seems pretty dumb that all you need to do is run up and hold down a button to dismantle a barricade. The main gripe I have is that it really dumbs down the whole defending/fortifying aspect of the game. In my opinion they should make it to where you need to have explosives in order to destroy defenses. Plus the sound effect can easily be drowned out by all the other sound effects going on at the same time. I mean you already have plenty of people running around chucking dynamite, taking out the dismantling wouldn’t be a big blow to gameplay.

Sometimes it’s indeed easier with tnt. Take the tank traps for example… if you’re not an engineer dismantling those takes an eternity (game time wise) AND the sound it makes is a dead giveaway you’re here… sandbags however… In real life those walls looks like all it would take is a well placed kick to knock down… So it ain’t that bad all considered.

Yep and in some cases its a little too long

Same witht eh wire a couple of snips and it’s gone

it seems like they are still experimenting with it, if im correct back in the day you couldnt dismantle enemy fortifs, when you disassambled barbed wire the wire stayed on the ground providing slow effect, the wire was deadly as hell, then it was nerfed and now its more deadly again
