Engineer building not main squad

Not sure if it is a bug or intentional, but if you play engineer at least at level one , if you are not in engineer main squad you are unable to deploy AT guns, or AA. Hope this is a bug or engineers in squads have lost their value really, @Keofox hi, is this intentional? Has the allied mg nest been changed?

This is intentional, so there is really purpose to play engineer squad. Before it was mainly used to just get the upgrades and then one engineer in other squad could do the exact same job. And egineers in other squads still have the possibility to bulid fortifications, ammo boxes and rally points, so I wouldn’t say that they lost their value.
Something similar was done with radio squad - that specific squad has possibility to call artillery strike more often than radiomen in other squads.

So now we must have active engineer squad if we want AA, AT guns, seems a little lacking, forcing us to play such a way.

Engineers should have the capability even if not in main squad, ok give them a debuff fine.

He is asking about AA and AT in other squads, not the engineer. And they can not be build there even after upgrades.

Yes, and that way engineer squad stays relevant and not serves just until the upgrades are done and then ends up in “trash bin”. You can do well without any of those guns, but if you really want to use them then use that specific squad.

However, now in order to fight planes we are forced to have engineer squad in active slot… because if you don´t do that, nobody will.

Let me remind you, that F2P account have only THREE slots on active squads which is bloody horrible, considering that you NEED to have equipped engineer squad and sniper squad as US. In Moscow, everything automatic triumphs, so you can sacrifice only sniper squad (assault / LMG + engineer) to try something different and still be viable in terms of your options.

Thus, in order to be able to somewhat fight planes without wasting your slot on one, you are forced to have only ONE free slot you can use to actually train your soldiers or try new things.

That is to be honest extremely bad design… engineers should be able to deploy at least anti-air gun no matter in which squad they are.
Not to mention how P2W (for slots) this can be.

I fully agree on additional slots being P2W. The whole concept of different squads having different capabilities is ok. It becomes bad when you add that P2W aspect to that.

I´m just trying to make raw suggestion, that will be an attempt to lower damage this has done, but I would prefer purchasing squads to be removed entirely, and at least some engineer unlocks to be shared.
