Enduring Confrontation to Compete with HLL in regards to duration ONLY

It would be awesome if you would open the maps up entirely for a larger battle, maybe 50 vs 50 and have it more like Hell Let Loose. Maybe similar to War Thunder to start where you just do Enduring Confrontation mode in one campaign (or more depending on players) each weekend. I think it would make the game amazing and allow half tracks to be utilized which is a much requested unit by many.

Perhaps even allow a dedicated commander for ten players so that there can be some organization. I know that it would require some mechanic reworks but to start I’d just let it rip with more squads battling it out. Then from there start organizing a chain of command structure potentially, based on feedback and player experience of course.

Even starting 20 vs 20, it may make the aircraft such as the fighters useful because the other team might have up to 4 bombers now. I think just like Naval in War Thunder, Enduring Confrontation won’t be for everybody but will fit perfectly for some and eventually be able to compete with Hell Let Loose in terms of gameplay.

HLL is a walking simulator, lacks atmosphere, only thing it has is good team play if you are lucky!

I tried it, these are different games, I think this is more fun, just stating my own opinion, don’t shoot me!

Changing the game to be more like Hell Let Loose will just end up with people playing Hell Let Loose instead. Enlisted should focus on what it’s two main draws are: Action and AI. Enlisted is much closer to Battlefield or even (the older) Call of Duty than it is to Hell Let Loose, and thats fine. Lean into that, and find the niche of “historically accurate shooter that is still action packed”. AI is the main gimmick of Enlisted and it’s what really separates the game from others like it, yet the AI is seriously lacking in usefulness as of right now. The best use of AI is to just hide them in a corner somewhere and use them as respawns while attacking an objective. People come into Enlisted expecting to be a squad leader like in Brothers in Arms, and they find AI spinning in circles, running towards grenades, and shooting Mosins at tanks.

The 2 games are massively different, and even some form of “enduring confrontation” in Enlisted would not be similar to HLL - where logistics and command are the driving forces and combat much less so.

They appeal to different markets - if you want to play something like HLL then the best thing to do is play HLL.

While HLL is good, you also need a lot of free time to play it. Some matches take over an hour to finish. Time many people do not have. And one of the reasons I stopped playing it.

To be clear, I do not want the game to change or become Hell Let Loose. I’d like an Enduring Confrontation with the entire map available and a game that lasts closer to an hour with larger teams to fill the much larger map.

Hope that clarifies my goal with this post.

Exactly, hence the optional enduring mode on weekends for Enlisted.

Couldn’t agree more, and I hope the games stay different. I would like to play a larger map with larger teams when I have the time such as on weekends. Hence opening the enduring mode weekends only.

Please reread, my suggestion wasn’t to change the overall mechanics but allow a longer match on the weekends where more coordination could potentially be used. I mentioned given player feedback before looking into coordination methods so my initial suggestion had nothing to do with changing mechanics.

Agreed but I enjoy half tracks and larger maps occasionally when time permits. I think it would be awesome to open the maps up fully for special enduring modes every once in a while.

PlanetSide 2 ? :grinning:

I’m kinda agree with this mode suggestion, sound fun

Yes, without changing the mechanics that exist now would be cool.

Just open the whole map and put as many people possible.
Make it like invasion/conquest mode but with more people and more maps to explore.
maybe even make new branches of invasion line (this sound like normal H&G).

And about the time, how about make it so that xp multiplayer is calculated by time-spended on battlefield and no penalty for deserter so that people can just join the game and quit anytime they want.

I’ve also played HLL recently, and what I like the most, and wish Enlisted would steal is the way the sectors and hard points work. It would spread the action out, my biggest gripe is the arbitrary objective boundaries. What I don’t like about HLL is no variety in squads, and vehicles. Can’t tell you how many times I’ve been killed by a tank, and wish I could spawn in an attack plane to bomb it.

So become a commander and order airstrikes

Most of the time some idiot without a mic, or someone who doesn’t know how to be commander is already in the spot.

in which case bail and look for a better one

I think that game does benefit a lot from being in a regular clan so you have reliable command.
