End-game chat, player interactions & more

This game is one of the best I have ever seen: the realism, the gameplay, the fact it ran perfectly on my computer (which can’t run most similar games) and that I had 0 crashes or such bugs. I’m very satisfied.

The one thing lacking in it, though, and that I find quite disappointing is the chat. There is no end-game chat at all. People can’t even say things like “gg” or comment on the match results with others, which makes the game feel kind of empty and gives the impression that you’re not playing against other humans.

These things might seem rather trivial, but they are actually very important in multiplayer games, in order for players to connect with each other, comment on the game-play, banter and have a sense of community. With a proper end-game chat after battle players are, for instance, more likely to add others as friends and get to know people - and, thus, more likely to play for longer.

This is probably the only multiplayer game I have ever played where, after over a month, my “friends” list is empty as I have added no one and had no one add me as a friend. I haven’t even had any interaction at all with other players outside of the battles. That is kind of disappointing and, again, makes the game feel rather empty.

For instance, and just as an example on how disappointing this is, I had this one invasion match where the entire team was getting pretty beaten down but then we got closely-united coordinating the defense in the chat, we managed to turn things around, we cheered and congratulated each other on every hard-fought objective defended and had a great time in general. We then ended up losing the match by, like, an inch - and then that was it. It ended and nobody could talk anything any more - we couldn’t lament the loss, comment on how epic the match was, congratulate others for the effort, and - most important - talk with people to add them as friends.

It is even worse that the already-limited game chat gets deadline interrupted the moment the match objectives are reached (even before the match ends). Some people even have to resort saying things like “gg team” minutes before the game ends, due to how bad the chat situation currently is.

So my suggestion - which would be a great improvement to the game in general for almost no effort - is for the chat to be extended to the end-game screen. Give, like, one minute after the match ends for the people in that lobby to talk to each other (if they want, if they don’t they can just leave as normal) - like what happens in every other multiplayer game.

Furthermore, the end-game chat could be open so that people from both teams can talk with each other - to congratulate their perfomance, say they got close, banter them, tell that guy who killed you 10 times in the match “damn”, ask tips & so forth.

Anyway, thanks to the developers for the work they put in this awesome game, please take that suggestion into consideration and good luck with the game’s further development.

Yes, yes, yes!

Every serious online shooter needs to have a pre-game and post-game lobby, where people can talk strategy, berate each other, form friendships, etc. Pre-game lobby might be a turnoff for more casual players, because it prevents you from getting into the game immediately, so I can kind of understand not having that one. There is no excuse for not having a post-game lobby.

Another big problem I have with the game’s chat functionality, is that you can’t write at all in the squad selection screen, even though the best time to type would be while waiting for a respawn.
