Effectiveness of Mortars in Conquest

I have a hard time getting mortars to work in Conquest.
Please give me some advice.
Also, I have a question, if I fire into a dark area of the map, will the enemy take damage?

  1. the objective markers are key
  2. yes you can nuke people outside the map

well, from somewhat of a experienced player, i can’t tell you anything more than, try to learn the map, where the enemy comes from, consider the speed of your ally soldiers, and roughly, it should be the same as the enemy. so when your ally approach a middle point, just aim a bit further than the objective and start rain down with the mortar.

another thing that i suggest, it’s follow the following pattern:

this one is not universal, but considering that enemy are faster pretty much like your teammate, use your teammate as somewhat of a measuring distance between them and the point.
( but it works 80% of the time )

so, once you leave a marker after the point as a reference, and when the teammates start closing in ( to the point ), start raning fire in this sense:

so that you cover a wider sector and at least wipe out several elements of the enemy squads.
helping out your ally on the capture point. this, works for earlier stange.
and after that, start use your weapons or use the cheesy way ( which i do not reccomend as i don’t like it ) ask/find/build ammo boxes and spray like a battery.

while you are in the middle of the combat, as said before, knowledge and experience of the map are key.
but non theless, you have a map that you can zoom and watch carefully. so if you see points, markers, possible rally points, and many other things, use it to your advantage.

it ain’t much, but i hope this can help.

if you have further questions, just ask.

P.S. tried to make this post earlier but the hamster that runs this forum server decided to take a nap.
cheers.
