it would be great if the weather changes and differs from battle to battle. In my opinion it would add some sort of a variety and alternation to the game. Even better would be to set the weather historical accurate in order to represent the battles from the past, so that you get a real insight of Operation Barbarossa and a more impressive gaming experience. Though it is not necessary to set some battle into night, if not historical accurate, but as I mentioned before, if the battle took place in night then this game should set this battle’s weather also to night.
Nevertheless I believe that Enlisted would become more dynamic and funnier. In fact, it would make also sense, because the weather on the way to Moscow was far away from sunny and clear. One of the primarly reasons why the battle of Moscow ended into a german defeat was also attributed to the bad winter preperations of the germans. The result, high casualties due to vehement frostbites. In general, the germans had to fight besides the soviets, also the unbearable cold of Russia. Same goes for the soviets btw.
If the game puts emphasis on the historical accuracy, then nothing stands in the way of the implementation of this suggestion in the future. I am aware that the developers primarly task is to fix bugs and glitches, and that should be respected and supported. But still if u want a suggestion to improve the game further, then the historical consultation of the weather in-game should also be contemplated in order to improve the gaming experience decisively.
I LOVE your suggestion. I pointed out the same thing in one of my posts.https://forum.enlisted.net/t/we-need-bigger-maps/2564/33?u=73507743 Weather in the Battle of Moscow was almost always bad and snowstorms kicked like crazy.
The temperature was on extreme levels but in this game there is little to no snow on the map and it feels like the beginning of spring, not winter.
This makes the campaign less unique looking and I already know Berlin, Africa and Normandy will be more popular if devs don’t do something with maps and weather on Moscow
Hells to the yeah on this one. I would absolutely love to have a gunfight as it rains or snows. Some lightning and thunder would be bonus too.
But I can’t stop wondering of it’s performance. I run a decent enough rig and average about 115 fps. Although, since this game works on even the most basic systems, dynamic weather could potentially take that away. Weather and particle effects in general is very performance intensive.
Well, Normandy is constantly nice and full of sunshine while aside of beach invasion mode, where the weather should be fixed for obvious (historical) reasons, there are options to play a bit with weather conditions too.
I do wonder whether the weather is set as is for players on lower end pcs, with heavy snowfall it could be a drain on resources.
But true, dynamic weather would be amazing!
Dynamic Weather like rain and snow fall would be cool. But I’m not supporting it if the visual effects are downright distracting and make visibility shit. If it just ends up as some over exaggerated particle storm in-game which prevents me from acquiring targets, I’m just going to leave the match.
