Adding this for one because we have every other weapon 27 and 29 already included in the game. easy to mess with stats giving it a slower or faster rof and a faster or slower reload. Also came it belt both would go in the same br as there dp27 cousin. great in event, bp or premium as tech tree would be a bit redundant.
No we have the dp27 in game they are not the same gun DPM , modernized version adopted in 1943–44, with a more robust bipod fastened to the cooling jacket and the recoil spring housed in a tube projecting from the rear of the receiver which necessitated a pistol grip for this model of the weapon (manufactured in China as the Type 53
The core issue is that the USSR still has far too few machine‑guns. Any additional machine‑gun would be a welcome addition.
Look at Germany at BR‑4: MG45, early‑variant MG42 and MG39. All of them boast an extremely high rate of fire and dominate static firing.
By comparison, the USSR only has the slow‑firing DT‑29, which gets outclassed by the TE‑4.
Therefore adding the belt‑fed DP‑28 to the tech‑tree makes perfect sense. After all, the USSR currently has the smallest machine‑gun roster among all factions.
Without a competitive rate of fire, it has to rely on magazine capacity to make up its performance for BR4.
Right now the belt‑fed DP and the Fedorov machine‑gun are rare weapons locked behind premium squads, regular players cannot get them.
