In this post, I would like to suggest about two issues: bunny-hopping(+shooting while jumping) and Semi-auto nerf.
Bunny-hopping is definitely a problem, as it is very unrealistic. And it becomes a bigger problem when combined with automatic spam.
Semi-auto nerf was, and is not welcomed. However, this nerf taught me that SAs can be used more slowly and accurately(not just mag dumping as I used to) This doesn’t mean the nerf was good because I could fire my SAs ‘slowly and accurately’ before the nerf.
I want the SAs buffed, but I don’t think the developers will just undo the nerf. So I thought of a solution: buff SAs and make shooting guns drain stamina.
Let me explain more about this. The amount of stamina drained by shooting(separate from holding your breath) should be proportional to the kinetic energy of the bullet. The bigger the energy, the harder it will be to keep shooting. The amount that the bullet drains can be different depending on the stance: being prone will use up less stamina per bullet when shooting. Weapons with high ROF will drain the stamina faster.
What would be the effect of this ‘buff SAs and let shooting guns drain stamina’ idea?
First, we will be able to fight more aggressively with our SAs, however, as SAs fire big rounds, shooting SAs very fast continuously will drain the stamina quickly, limiting movement and long-range combat ability(can’t hold breath due to lack of stamina).
Second, bunny hopping+shooting will be disencouraged. Shooting a weapon while jumping will drain the stamina more rapidly than before, so players won’t be able to continue jump+shoot for long. Some players might continue bunny hopping and shooting, but it won’t be as overpowered.
TL,DR: buff SA and make shooting bullets drain stamina.
This might be hard, as the developers will have to apply different ’drain per bullet’ values for different weapons. What do you think about this idea? Is this unrealistic?
PS: double takeout is a term used in curling, a winter sport.
