Isn’t the speed when you run only linked to the weapon you carry?
Therefor you take a knife instead of a MG42 when you need to run.
Used to work this way true.
But I think they fixed it. Taking the knife out doesn’t seem to give a speed boost anymore.
Unlike the sword item, transforming your Soldier into Usain Bolt.

Could it now be, instead of holding, the gun in the first (primary) slot?
It’s true I ussed to draw my lil knife to run, when using my big lmg guys. But nowadays it doesn’t seem to change anything if my soldier holds a knife and not his lmg.
Flammers have lots of weight and run out of stamina fast, while regular troops can run longer.
