Do you guys have Jumbo already?

I am just curious if someone already have Jumbo. If yes, It must be little bit OP, isn’t it? As far as i know from War Thunder, Germans should not penetrate it to the front with any gun in Normandy campaign.

i do not have it, but i reached a totaly ammount of 17 jumbos encountered and faced since start of obt.

and from an averange PZ IV H user, it’s barely a fight.

it becomes extreamly overpowered when the dude it’s just sitting in his spawn getting covered by the no boundary zone, and above all, when angled, it’s impossible to kill it.

yeah sure, you have the mg port. exept you are not gonna kill the main gunner. when he will most likely wipe out half elements of your tank ( and worst still possible scenario, 1 tap you ).

outside that, they are not invicincible. but it gets complicated as jumbo users have up to 5 crew, and despite how many time you shoot through the mg port, he will most likely kill you first. unless german tankers manage to get on their flank, and shoot between tracks and side armors ( where ammonitions are stored ):

in this video, i was luckely that the jumbo was not watching me. and plus, i had the 4 star puma, which it’s incredibly good:
https://forum.enlisted.net/t/veteran-puma-4-stars-indepth/7831?u=30101451
but despite having the best puma, shooting the jumbo’s turret even at close range it’s unpenetrable.

so yeah, it is OP. and should not belong in enlisted. to the simple fact that for the same logic, tigers/panthers should be added. reversing the problem on the american side as M5s and M8s stands no chance. pretty much like PZ IVs and PZ III n against jumbos. and it’s not a solution at all.

not to mention, according to various sourches, the jumbo never actually saw normandy landing as well…

so dunno.

They never were: The first vehicles arrived in the New York port on the 14th of August 1944. On the 29th, the 12th Army Group was informed by the War Dept that 250 M4A3E2 Assault tanks had been released and would be in the ETO in September. On the 1st September, the 3rd Armored Division put in a request for 150 M4A3E2s from 12th Army Group. The first 128 Jumbos arrived in France via Cherbourg on the 22nd September 1944.

Its good that axis dont have better vehicles in all categories. Their airforce is already superior in every campaing and look like it will be even in berlin

Well, but Germans had superior vechiles its just that most noobs just dont know how to deal them because dont bother to learn!

german also lost war and d day landing so allies should win regardless what players do? Yeh that would be nice for US to have 2x exp for victory every time

I’ve had it for almost 2 weeks now. Yes it’s really strong and shouldn’t be in game since it has no tank on tank counter

I’ve just got it and it’s pretty OP on D-Day map. None of my crew died and I ended with 3.4k exp in a single tank.

i have used it and faced off against it many times and can say as long as you arent some noob who just aims for green and cries when it does not insta destroy the tank then it is as balanced as every other tank. It makes sense the higher into the campaign you get the better the tanks are. Even with that all tanks get be destroyed with 1 or 2 well placed rounds as long as you do research and learn the spots

That first shot shouldve done damage, im not even talking from a realism perspective, from a balance and gameplay standpoint if a tank gets shot in the side by another tank, the tank that gets hit shouldn’t be able to get away with allowing himself to get shot in the side.

The jump from the 75mm gun sherman and the jumbo 76mm gun is too much:

  • 1 Isn’t historical to have a jumbo on the DDay

  • 2 The Pz IV H isn’t a balanced counter of it, since it doesn’t even get the added on track armor

  • 3 It is virtually impenetrable in a 1vs1 engagement, especially at long range even for a Pz IV H

  • 4 It should be removed and substituted with a suitable heavy/well armoured medium tank that can evenly fight against the Pz IV H and that was used by the allies in the DDay/Normandy campaign

  • 5 it should come back once the axis gets a proper counter to it

NOPE, Jumbo should permanently be removed from Normandy. The first 128 Jumbos arrived in France via Cherbourg on the 22nd September 1944.

I Might accept it being in Normany campain if Tiger is added!

There’s no 76mm Jumbo ingame.

I bothered the devs during Q&A stream, they stated the Jumbo will not be removed nor replaced.

I think the best idea would be to change it to 76mm Jumbo and add the Tiger.

Well, no counter for germans against Jumbo it mostlikely will eventually kill entire Normandy campain!

Tiger would be unusable on D-day, leaving the jumbo without a counter.

The jumbo is a mistake, simple as that.

I wouldn’t mind giving germans all the panthers in the world if it came with all of the issues Panther tanks had and the fact that they get absolutely bare minimum fuel so they couldn’t just roam around the maps as it was in real life where they mostly depended on ambushes and prepared defenses.

However most WW2 games absolutely fail to simulate the logistics side of the war since that is not actually fun or interesting. If german air support faced continuous relentless pursuit from british interceptors then the few planes that would make it to their intended target would be fine with their massive payloads.

Imagine if they made Berlin faithful to reality - absolute bottom of the barrel equipment and soldiers (kids and elderly for the most part) rather than fit men in their prime with FG42s with all the ammo in the world. Tanks mostly served as immobile bunkers parked in either main thoroughfares or in the side streets without enough fuel to meaningfully maneuver and flank, air support was non-existent, but all of that wouldn’t exactly be fun, now would it?

It seems like they tried to balance the M4s by giving them AP ammo only. Shooting a Panzer 3 or 4 with it is like chopping down a tree. It’s also currently the only tank that can survive the splash damage from a BF 110 as direct hits can still kill it. I’m guessing the original purpose was for a breakthrough tank for D-day.
