Something that caught my attention in the last update, and in a negative way, was the deliberate addition of the ability for one to drop cooked grenades while in downed mode. We already have a lot of grenade-explosion caused deaths in-game. In squads mode sometimes small parts of the map get very packed with soldiers, so a grenade can kill a LOT of people.
I know that because I do it all the time and get a lot of kills that way. I have an entire squad with grenades to throw. Sometimes if I do something really dumb, like enter in a room packed with enemies while carrying a bolt-action, I still can get a lot of kills because I just dump one before I die, like a chicken laying an egg, and boom 5 kills to my list. No tactics, no skill, this just rewards stupid plays. I made even made a thread a while ago about how unrealistic it is to just instant-drop a live grenade like that (you need to use both hands and a few seconds to pull the pin off the grenade, and then throw it) and how, currently, you can do it even while reloading a weapon which is just nuts.
Now, this being a deliberate choice, I must ask: do we really need MORE grenade explosions in the game? Make Enlisted into a snowball-fight game but with grenades? Is this the direction you want to take the game towards? âEpic playsâ killing a bunch of people with no skill, rather than tactics and shooting and positioning your squad, and not doing dumb things like mindlessly rushing into enemy positions and still getting a lot of kills because you just shat a grenade in the ground?
I never liked the idea of âdowningâ and then being able to self-heal, but I grew accustomed to it. But this takes it to a whole other level. My suggestions are: remove the ability to drop cooked grenades while downed and add minimally-realistic grenade throwing in-game, requiring you at least 1 or 2 seconds to throw them (and not being able to do it while youâre reloading your weapon)
To others reading the thread, what is your input? Do we need more grenade explosions in game? What do you think?
