perhaps its the constant uptiering, or a fourth defence round in a row or a bollox map… sort this and perhaps desertion would reduce.
As its an entertainment game and a round is not fun due to MM, BR, map or bollox then leaving a round shouldn’t be punished anyway.
No map veto, no bonus xp for chosing any side.
Fix the core issues and not just try to force everyone to play.
And desrtion penalties have no place in casual game anyway

I’d accept a penalization for deserters when they add a button to select the game mode, but since the retarded answer still is about the pLaYErbaSe… I’m not going to play neither stupid game modes nor with retarded teams.

But either way, adding penalties now, would only hurt balance even more. Most “game jumpers” do so at the very start of a match when they see it’s either a mode they don’t like or the team they are with, really doesn’t compare to their opponent’s.
With a penalty, you can be certain no one but masochists would ever play unpopular factions ever again…

I agree there is much to improve with match making and campaign selection that would probably stop the desertion rates, and THEN swinging penalties should be ruthlessly applied!
ETA: we actually won that game, with about 1/2 the last point captured - perhaps because the lightweights left?!!

armored train game mode? its bad, I leave right away
conquest game mode? most of the maps are bad, I leave right away
I see high tier doomstack on enemy side vs mostly console privates on my side? it will be unfun experience, I leave right away
etc
punishing me or similar players for this? nah, normal mp games dont do that. they dont call their players “DESERTER!” every time either
crew lock in war thunder is one of the worst game mechanics there, implenting something like this can kill this game for good

outing myself in what way? its absolutely normal reasons to leave the match, not my problem they cant make better balancer or map and game mode voting/selection/preference/whatever

i despise certain modes and maps with passion. if they introduce penalties before fixing underlying issues i will just uninstall the game. that is how adamant i am about devs forcing people to play shit maps and modes with penalties.
they are not fixing those game modes (and by fixing i mean deleting cause that is how bad they are). even worse is that they are introducing new maps with those modes despite overwhelmingly negative feedback about them.
it’s not me who you have to convince buddy.
from what everyone can see, people are having less fun because of people with few gripes on matchmakers or too afraid pulling up for a fight.
hence, some penalties would put some people in place.
everyone happy.
maybe not literally everyone, but that’s alright.
nah… penalties will just make people quit the game. people will be pissed for either being forced to play shit maps/modes that they hate either for being punished by the game when there is no actual option to not play certain modes/maps.
also people dont have problem with getting defeated, they have problem with getting roflstomped and being punching bag.
so your preferred solution is to force those people to not have fun for those few people that have less fun cause of their quitting?
do you know what affects my fun? when i see loads of people just outside cap shooting or sniping, while enemy is inside capturing. should we introduce penalties for them cause they ruin my fun? or maybe for those people who dont build rallies
