I’ve mined off all antires to house cap points on normandy before and yet I get no mine kills… do they just dissapear?
Ye, im pretty sure mines automaticaaly explode after some time
Not sure about AT mines though
Well Normandy is a very EXPLOSIVE Campaign. Everywhere Anything goes Boom, and vllt your Mine was next to this?
They work pretty Fine, seems they worked on it.
I had the same questions a few months back. I don’t play Normandy but they do work in Moscow. All my squads have mines. I place them all over the roads, especially in the monastery maps. Both anti infantry and anti tanks.
Mines are very vulnerable to any interaction, including explosions nearby. It is possible that your mines got yeeted by grenades/artillery, random shot, tank HE… anything. I usually only use them indoors and on places where heavy fighting is not likely to avoid these random explosions.
Quick question: Which faction are you playing as while laying mines?
What the others have said is all true, mines are quite vulnerable, and will get destroyed if other explosives go off nearby, and they can also be easily set off with gun fire or people will just not end up in their quite small trigger radius. They don’t however have a time limit, or if they do its a very long one.
That said, my experience with mines as Axis has been very different from my experience laying mines as the russians. With the axis, if the mine goes off on an enemy, it kills them outright quite reliably. In Tunisia I tend to fill the cap point with a dozen mines given time, and it will happily eat the first squad that enters. As russians though, the mines will frequently go off on someone’s feet while dealing no damage. So, if you’re playing as the allies in normandy, you might have cursed mines.
Axis in Moscow… With maps like Fortified Fortress, Beloe Lake and especially Monastery. They wreck such havoc on infantry spamming squads and tanks. Due to very well outline travel routes.
