Diversity in the Fw 190 family

I once made a suggestion post about the Fw 190 family, a bit controversial perhaps, but today I found some information that may make for an interesting suggestion.

Fw 190 A-1 (BR II) I think it fits perfectly here as it has no ordnance but is quite speedy for the BR and while the flight model is a bit wonky it has 4x 8mm mgs and 2x 20mm cannons so it’s more than capable of tearing down any plane that it faces, as it should.

Fw 190 A-4 (Currently BR II) Now here is where my issues lay and my suggestions begin, tbh while I love the A-1, the A-4 is just better, it’s basically the same as before but better in every respect as it now has 4x 20mm cannons, so there’s no point in taking the A-1 over it tbh.

Finally, the Fw A-8 (BR III), my personal favorite over-achieving bird, this thing is a monster in B&Z and the rockets, while a bit tricky to aim sometimes, deliver a powerful punch to infantry and very unlucky tanks, imho with 4x 20mm cannons and the rockets this is BR IV material right here, but people get very touchy feely when I say so arguing about speed and only speed, so let’s leave it at that.

So my suggestion lies in the ordnance or lack of it in the A-4. Just today I found out that some A-4s were modified to serve as JaBos back in tunisia and the Eastern front and some others could even carry rockets.

So I think that this could justify my suggestion:

  • Give the Fw A-4 1x 250kg bomb (Move to BR III leaving the A-1 & 8 untouched)
  • Give the Fw A-4 2x 21cm rockets (Move to BR III and give the 1x 250kg bomb to the A-8)
  • No, I dislike variety (Leave the A-4 at BR II outshining the A-1)

While I’m for the idea of the A4 getting ordinance, I think the A1 can go to BR1 instead of staying BR2. It’s similar if not a bit worse to the Bf 109 E7/U2 in general. The guns are slightly better (in just a little more ammo for the 20mms and two small MGs) and it is little faster, but completely lacks ground attack capability and has an awful turn speed.

we just need more fockes with different loadouts, still no f8 or a8, those would be lovely

Well, as I said in a previous post, while I agree somewhat, for me BR I is just for Wright brother’s level of planes, like the biplanes and such, imo the A-1 is just a bit too advanced and armed with 4 mgs and 2 cannons for it

Yes! I’d love for them tp ad those, but I think that in the meantime, some minor changes line these could bring in some balance and some needed variety

If I recall correctly, the flight model is in fact broken, and has been for years. Unfortunately, it will not be fixed anytime soon as the Enlisted devs are incapable of fixing the issue. The only hope is that the War Thunder devs will fix the FW flight model on their end, and the Enlisted devs will import the new model into Enlisted.

Unless these things flew like teenager in drugs while skateboarding, yes they are broken and has been so for years.

Broken it is instead, but yeah, it won’t be fixed and even if it is, not amm the things done in WT carry over, like the new Tiger II & T-34-85 models and so

Yeah, IL-2 may belong in BR III but you know that no soviet thing will be balanced ever haha
