I would like to request an addition to the practice range that would make learning zeroing and gauging distance much, much easier. Currently, the only way to gauge distance in game is to use mortars which is ok, but not everybody knows this and not many people use mortars. However, a huge amount of people will use anti tank weapons with zeroing. Putting distance markers on the target range to learn how distance scales in game would be really helpful. In addition, putting a line at 0 m and a distance on each tank would be extremely helpful for practicing zeroing and getting better at the game. Obviously, with enough practice you can learn to zero and gauge distance without this but having this as a feature and even as hopefully a zeroing tutorial would help all the new and even experienced players.

I’ll go one further and say any V mark placed down through binoculars should have a distance marker on it for everyone on the team, not just for mortar people, and the “every marker has distance” for mortars should be removed in order to make binoculars and spotting more consequential.
Obviously the majority of markers will still be without binocs since the game is fast paced, so not much will change, but players that want to be more tactical can take advantage of the extra effort = extra information/reward.
oh shi sorry bro, I misread what you said, I thought you said, mortars as a whole should be removed. In that case yeah, I think removing them could be a good idea since it would make the mortar play style more tactical and binocs would be really useful. sorry about that.
lol it kind of doesn’t make sense how mortars can see through buildings and know the distance. Even if I don’t completely like the idea of mortars no longer having that distance marker, since this isn’t a slow tactical shooter, I do think having binoculars be able to show marker distance is very nice. It’s just that mortars would become even more niche and less used if the dummy proof feature of seeing the distance was removed
95% of then time i just drop mortars behind the point anyway, and there’s always a distance marker on the point. Most markers that show up I don’t take seriously. If they required binoculars to mark and showed a distance, i would trust them when i see them since it takes someone an extra 1 second to do it, at least you know it’s intentional, not just a guy with mark key mapped to left mouse button.
As it is I don’t think I’ve ever gotten 1 kill by dropping shells on teammate’s markers (or between their markers and point to account for time delay). Better just plop them on the enemy side of the point, or all over the point if it’s exposed.
I’ve gotten multiple kills dropping mortars on teammate markers, the mortars are a support class and I usually spare a few shells to send where my teammates want. It has even gotten me some rally kills before. One extra second? Really? What about marks behind multiple buildings or dense foliage. It is true that shelling behind or on the point is very effective but again, there is no tutorial for binoculars, people won’t know to use them and the advantage of mortars is seeing that distance marker. I’m not going to argue with you as my original goal was to get distance markers in the practice range. If you want to get rid of the mortar distance markers you can create your own suggestion and poll.
