Why it’s nothing new:
-
Anyone who has played the game for a while can already guess the BR bracket by the kill log, e.g. you see FG/STG/AS/etc. - means BR4-5, if your lineup is BR3 and you see 88mm KwK/85mm Soviet gun - means you are in BR3-4, etc.
-
Anyone who uses paratroopers can already see the BR bracket when choosing the loadout from the box.
-
Sometimes the BR bracket can be figured out by the map, e.g. if you have a BR3 lineup and you load into a Moscow/Tunisia map - means you are in BR2-3.
Pros:
-
Taking T-34 (BR3) out and meeting Tiger H1 (BR4) is not a pleasant experience. If I knew I was in an uptier, I wouldn’t have taken it and someone on my team with T-34-85 or IS-1 (BR4) would be better for the team.
-
If I start a game as BR3 Germany and the game sends me to 1945 Berlin against T-28 and BT-7 from 1930s, I will quit this match 100% once I realize during the match that players around me are BR2. However, if I could quit instantly, another player (who might not care about BS time travelling) would have a chance to join at the beginning of the match and keep the game more balanced.
Cons:
- Maybe some crybabies who only want to play downtiers will quit faster than usual? But even then it’s better to get rid of them as soon as possible and have another human player replace them.
Poll:
- Yes, show the BR bracket when match loads
- No, don’t show it (comment why)
