ok guys, from the editor we know that (maybe) the next campaign will be guadalcanal,
1st question
now do you think there will be a naval plane mode? there is a large naval air battle during the campaign
2sd question
then you think there will be battles in the hinterland, I find it a bit difficult to do, with the exception of the airport, you know jungle
It would be nice if there was just a lot of Japanese theatre locations all in one campaign. I had hoped this would be the case for Normandy since we didnāt get a Paris map.
I was more talking about the pacific as a whole so we donāt get another split campaign like Stalingrad. Having a Iwo Jima map and Okinawa besides the whole campaign being about one island location.
Naval is unlikely, as there are no good ways to make a naval game mode in this game as of right now, but many naval planes will probably make their way into the campaign.
Henderson Airfield is a must, but after that, Itās really up to the devs. They could add a fortified district esque map but in the jungle, or a village. In all honesty, the maps will probably be similar to those of the Moscow Fall maps, except jungles instead of the boreal forests we see there.
IMO, Guadalcanal could work as a campaign, but only if the devs chose to limit it to 30 levels omit the Ha Go. The Ha Go is ironically easier to balance in a late war campaign with the introduction of the M8 Greyhound due to the fact it also lacks a coaxial, but before that the Ha Go is severely underpowered in terms of anti-infantry compared to literally anything the devs could add. this irony actually works for a lot of the imbalances that Japan has compared to the US and Commonwealth, as much of the time the Americans and the British were using equipment that they had had since the North Africa campaign, while Japan was slowly trying to catch up and putting prototypes into production to match the technological advantage held by the Allies on the ground. Sure, many of those prototypes never saw combat, but they were built and put into service, which is good enough for the game devs.
Have a hard time believing they will do anything unique, like give the japs the ability to build powerful traps, have better speed, faster BA cycling and so on.
It was historically mostly just IJN planes over Guadalcanal, but towards the end some IJA planes were used as well, Ki 43ās and Ki 48ās.
Kind of also depends on what time window there looking at, if it is Just Guadalcanal and not the fighting in the Solomonās than were really just looking at late 42 and very early in 43

Those were in the campaign, and I left out a few, but they could as they often do include planes that were not in the battle but are time relevant
G41 wonāt be in any pacific campaign, Japan never had any. They also donāt need to do anything completely unique, Japan has enough unique weapons and vehicles that would fit the confines of this game and be balanced.
The sbd_3 and pby_5a are both in the editor, however the pby_5a isnāt spawnable.
Iām unsure about some, but most of the ones listed arenāt there.
Yes, but those were in the inventories of the German, Russian and American militaries as of the time of of their respective campaigns, which is the standard the devs use to justify adding things. No Japanese military personnel laid a hand on a Gewehr 41 throughout all of World War 2. In fact, it is more likely that they had a Johnson M1941, as the Dutch forces in the Dutch East Indies and the Nationalists in China had Johnsons, and the Japanese have a track record of using weapons they captured from both, fielding Thompsons they got from both on various occasions.
I just looked at the list and actually most of them are listed as being in war thunder, the KI 48 is not, which is odd given how important it was as a bomber for the IJA, they definitely have plenty of stuff to flesh out the campaign.
One thing I have been wondering though is if enlisted is going to push war thunder to actually make more content, more plans and more tanks to fit into some of these campaigns that Enlisted is creating.
Obviously somethings Iāve been built like the motorcycles and the AT guns, so I suppose itās possible weāll see some more content.
Since battles in this region overwhelmingly used naval vessels more often than tanks (of course, the editor had PT boats).
perhaps the campaign tree could include small vessels. As for naval vessels, Japan is not so different from the Allies, so an imbalance could be avoided.
I hope that eventually even destroyers can be used.
Thats interesting the Editor had PT boats, they were largely infective against ships (the US ones) , but they were effective at barge busting and harassment.
I doubt it because Japanese didnāt focus tiny boats.
In Japan, landing crafts and armored gunboats were developed by Japanese army, but such gunboats were designed for support landing crafts and river battles. In other hand, American patrol torpedo boats were designed to attack enemy ship and have not only torpedoes but also multiple machine guns suitable to attack enemy boats. It will be extremely unbalanced battleā¦
In addition, some Daihatsu (landing craft) were armed and ace daigatsu captain called āTiger of the Solomonā, but in game it is not a good weapon: it have only 7.7mm machine guns and one 37 mm anti-tank gun on the bow.
In other hand, destroyers are not suitable for game, too. It can fire multiple 127 mm cannon very quickly. In the navy, 127 mm gun is peashooter but in the ground it is heavy cannon. It can destroy infantry battles completely.
