Possibly limit bombs and artillery outside cap zone’s immediate neighbourhood. It is called a capture zone, not a demolition zone. It just feels bad to be forced into a 15m x 15m area and then be bombed/shelled by planes and artillery without protection. But this is probably basis for debates. (Tanks are a different thing, as long as they are not in the gray zone they can and should be countered, no problem if they target the cap zone.)
Arty change was a good thing long term… more tweaking needed but it is a better place to start now.
Planes…OP beyond belief. This is a numbers game behind the graphics. Just change damage amount and radius of explosion. Being beta, can make changes for each update…
I have never been in a game where anyone got over 200 kills - most I’ve seen was 170 or so - and that back in the days when a/c would spawn camp right from the start and get 30+ kills inside 30 seconds!
Now they still primarily target the spawn, they just have to wait a little bit for it.
If it’s possible to implement, spawn protection should be extended specifically against planes.
Say, 20-30 seconds to get out of the spawn while a bomber drops its 40th 500kg on it. Infantry can still kill you but the plane can’t.
so how exactly is your “radio spotter spotting spotter rounds” idea suppose to be implemented in the game??? or are you bringing all this shit up just to try to be a shit disturber with no input on how it would/could make the current system any better…
where as with my suggestion to just give artillery an ammo count shared by the entire team actually has historical precedent since the artillery crew on the ship had to transport the artillery shells from below deck to above deck by hand…
the problem is the shelling isn’t realistic anymore you’ve got a fucking fleet of like 14 or 15 battleships offshore but you can only use one at a time… at least having an ammo cap would make it seem like your just exhausting your readily available shell reserve… if you have 15 ships with guns in the water and only 1 of em is shelling it just feels… …there’s no other word for it, it feels stupid…
*MORTARS: I think they also nerfed mortars. Before latest updates I could refill mortar shells at least twice from the ammo boxes. Now it’s just one time.
*ARTILLERY: The artillery nerfing is done twice and now you don’t really know when you can use it. You just see the message artillery is ready you are trying to use it and you keep getting that it’s in use from other team mates and you have to wait, so you keep spawning 7 key until you be able to use it. Which beyond of being unrealistic as many other aspects of the game (that’s another comment for those idiots still insisting on it’s realism), it’s extremely annoying.
*PLANES: The only nerf they did for planes was to add 1 minute delay on spawning them at the beginning of the game. They still don’t kill team mates are extremely game changers since they can clean a map of enemies without hurting friendlies which they can continue and capture a point while the dead bodies of all enemy soldiers trying to defend lying around… And they can just keep doing it again and again, wiping from personnel to armor.
250kg bombs are pretty fucken dumb for a 1cp map in particular, and if someone is in the air fighting you down you just suicide and spawn in inf, letting someone else do their own bombing run.
IMO the solution to this is to spawn the planes considerably further from the battlefield - i.e. 5km or so. This will allow fighters to have a chance at taking out a bomber before they make their run, and will make resupplying and trying to survive a legitimate option as opposed to cycling.
I really don’t know what to do with invasion maps and the 250kg bomber though, it’s seriously absurd how easily you can take out an entire enemy offensive with a carpet bomb along the frontlines, since you don’t kill friendlies. However if they add friendlyfire it’s going to be awful with all the shitty pilots and lack of accurate feedback on bombing runs, there will be a lot of it going around and it will be very easy to kill a lot of your team with a slight accident.
I think it will be seriously alleviated by just spawning planes further away, however. Getting to the battlefield for a good bombing run will actually be a challenge, as opposed to essentially getting a run for free as you do now.
it’s also 10-20 kills EASILY and without taking any casualties - something you won’t do wit ha knife
And more, as I said, in some circumstances - like invasion maps where you can hit reinforcements… I only use them for mortar tasks now - even before the nerf - now the tasks take longer but stil aren’t hard.
And at the end of it you stil have a squad you can go and get knife kills with if you want.
Mortar squad is great now, if I knew it was going to be invasion or conquest before I chose my squads i’d take it for invasion 100%, particularly on attack. I’ve also used it as an infantry squad that can quickly bomb a spawn point or a control point being capped 200m away. Remember they’re still a 6 man infantry squad at the end of the day, which is hardly poor, they just get some great indirect fire too.
