Developers Complete refusal to balance the game

Im just baffled how inept or unwilling they are to balance the game at all.
They sometimes listen o us in small QOL stuff but never on the HUGE balance issues

Moscow should be Bolt only no g41 and other semiauto

Normandy is completly unplayable from the CAS bomb spam

And on Berlin the soviets have a built in 50% win exp boost built into the their campaign .

All the Berlin maps have the cap point in the open with 0 cover for the defenders and the attackers usually have a 2 floor building and/or a trench system that leads to the point and only takes 1 guy like 30 sec to cap (Kroll op/Königsplatz/Ministry Garden)
These maps look like they were designed reversed,the attackers get cover/closer spawn and the defenders get no cover and the worse spawn
Its amazing that this has been going on for months with no end in sight

The problem is that these are fundamental gamedesign basics and not only they didnt see it before release but that they still didnt fixed it or even planning on fixing it

Yes and no…
I see the devs constantly releasing lil tweaking fix. And as the game main page shows… it’s a beta still 🤷 It’s too easy nerfing this and that because some people cry about op things, but it harms the game in the long run. We just got to be patient I suppose :thinking:

Well, best strategy games offer multiple, diffrent factions. They play diffrently, but are balanced, they are more about choice player makes about his gamestyle. In Berlin, they made Germans weaker, and left it at that. If there is no possibility to make equipement more or less equal in usefullnes, then dewelopers should give other tools for weaker faction, that will be in pair with their playstyle. It was done in Rising Strom Vietnam, if I remember correctly? US had equipement, VC had terrain.

Same can be done here, like some booby traps, or more baricades. But that will require changes to defence system as a whole, better environment destruction, and propably some other tweaks to core game. So in my opinion, they just made Berlin to early, to be able to do it properly.

The the germs should get 50% xp boost for losing too

Berlin was tested multiple times, German was far more stronger and had a massive win rate in alpha tests. But we also had stgs and king tiger tanks. Soviets had the is2, Fedorov and the rpd, but was a rare one to see. He did test berlin few times a few days at time, and Germany was always more stronger.

We did complain on the oficial discord thread back then that soviets had to pull way more effort to win,our feedback was the cause soviets had a better chance once berlin was delivered to us a few months ago.

Most matches on Berlin alpha would end on the first capture point with a German win.

They will balance the game as the development goes. Small steps at time.

Right now, it isn’t hard to win as a German player, but isn’t hard to win as a soviet one.

The issue right now, lays on the playerbase, or the lack of it.

Well you see, if the issue lays in lack of playerbase, then we also have to think about what causes it. I dont want to play germans in berlin, because it sucks. It sucks, because nobody wants to play germans on Berlin. It just snowballs into depths of retardnes.

Maybe it was other way around in alpha, I dont know. But small steps will take forever. Berlin has so many problems. Hitboxes, map design, weapon imbalance. Basicly what I like about it is visual representation of Berlin. Thats it. It doesnt give the same pleasure as other campaigns, and lack of german players in this campaign shows, that iam not alone. Often I fought against swarms of smgs and lmgs, did poorly, and was in like top 5 of my team, because everyone bellow me did nothing. Like only times I won, I really felt like my teammates were very good, and russians were just idiots, like one time they just camped on second objective and engaged in sniper duel, instead of pushing. But I lose here more often than on other campaigns, and also my feelings about actual gameplay on those maps are much worse.

Also one thing about playerbase on Berlin. I am using auto team. It works perfectly fine in normandy, where I play both sides with about equal frequency. It also works on moscov, where I play mostly Germans, but get to play soviets too. In Berlin, I was never put into russian team, also queue only rarly lasts for more than 5 seconds, wich just shows how few germany players there are in Berlin. If this last for longer, then there will be even fewer of them.

i think the game already offers x1.5 exp multiplier, so 50% more, for first place on the losing team

In my experience The game offer 1.2 exp multiplayer if you are in low position in the losing team, 1.3 exp if you are in high position in the losing team, 1.4,1.5 exp multiplayer are given in the losing team for battle hero awards and position so if even you lose you obtain a lot of exp if you play good

that seems fair since if you are good then you deserve good rewards

No need to lose hope in humanity. Berlin will improve, thats what betas are for.

I’m almost maxed my campaign as Germany and from my experience. When we get a good team together we are unbeatable. Just 2-3 guys working together can give the soviets fits. It’s far from the unbalance your speaking of. More of a playerbase problem.

The only thing truly unbalanced that needs to be buffed back are shotguns, they pretty much nerfed them to death on a single patch and they were not even OP at the time, they just managed to be some fun gun type to use.

As for the rest the game is supposed to be asymmetrically balanced and most of the time there is a stomped match, it usually because one team was far more coordinated than the other.

I agree, Axis Berlin doesn’t suffer from equipment problems, they just suffer from the lack of playerbase. For me who already maxed Axis Normandy, Axis Berlin doesn’t offer me enough incentives to play. The new toys are just VG 1-5, panthers, and MG34 with 75 drum mag. IIRC, Keofox mentioned that Axis Normandy will get a panther too so why should I bother grind the same equipments twice? Also I heard that MP43/I was present on the Normandy beta and mkb42 was also present on Normandy alpha. So again why should I grind Axis Berlin?
