Det packs

What has happened to the det packs after the update? Now we have a pause before the pack appears in your hand and then it`s about 7 seconds before it detonates  It was working so good before.

Big update yesterday.

Yes that is the problem :+1:

Now during a quick grenade throw a soldier will lower the weapon he was holding at that moment.

Yes I remember that now, Forlorn, but what about the extra 2 seconds for the pack to detonate?

: )

It’s 6-6.5 sec.
Like before

Before the sequence was this (if you hug your grenade/det pack):

Press button | … 1-2-3-4-5 | Auto-Throw | Pack detonate after more or less one second

So 6 to 6.5 sec in total.

Now it’s the same but the soldier don’t auto-throw it 1 sec before detonation.

Try it in practice.

However if this is intentional by devs, we don’t know.
But I think it’s a good change!

So u can now suicide bomb, awesome?, lol :stuck_out_tongue:
strap on some tnt as well, hopefully they combine, and boom heheh

lol. Yeah if you cook it too long …

But with the WP is buggy. You take a tiny damage while it detonate. But no effect in the scenary at all.

Make it if you cook it too long, you should leave a crater and all your explosives go up at once, be great animation haha

Forlorn I have always cooked the det pack for 3 and a 1/2 seconds then thrown it, it used to blow up on impact.

They did it on purpose and it makes perfectly sense. The detpack was usually a easy way of destroying a tank when aimed correctly. I always counted to 3-4 in my head and released the detpack before the autothrow would kick in because I knew that this change would come sooner or later. Now a player must learn how to throw the detpack without killing himself. Makes perfectly sense IMHO.

The autothrow also had an exploit which allowed you to throw all your grenades simultaneously, granted only one would be fully cooked, but having 3 WPs sail through a window in a single instant was rather shocking and it effectively tripled the area you could deny in a single instant with it. so yeah, they were bound to remove it eventually.
