Today I left few matches.
Some didn’t even started, others didn’t even bother.
Just yesterday I left a match seconds to be finished and a win, coz my tank spawned on a trench. And my fun got demolished.
I don’t care about the punishment. Changes nothing to me. I will keep playing enlisted as I ever did till now.
Not much care, my fun first. I don’t give much about other people opinon or punishment. I m not going to be forced to play settings or maps I simply don’t want. Nor give me Atack 3 points and get defence matches.

Either way, maybe not even punishments will be needed if, mm works.
My guess is that the punishment will be a few minutes of time out from using the matchmaker. Each time the player quit in a given time span the time out penalty might increase. The penalty period get reset to the shortest one after the given time span is up.
That’s not a reason to leave. I can easily beat people with better equipment.
If they’re a good player? Well, you’d get trashed even without the better equipment

Leaving because you don’t like the map is stupid, unless it’s blatantly unbalanced
Conquest is the only mode you should be leaving due to just being a shit mode (boring gameplay and bad rewards for the time input
Don’t forget that cheating is quite rampant, it’s like every other match I’m up against at least one cheater who doesn’t seem to miss with his non-scoped rifle and completely only hits the soldier that I’m controlling. I’d rather NOT waste my time playing unwinnable matches and would rather go onto the next.
That sounds like someone who is just a decent player who can aim and knows how players move compared to how AI move. You should get a sense for that too over time.
Not that there is not cheating out there. I just think you are calling out the wrong behavior as cheating.
Warthunder locks Crews for that nation for 10 minutes (or the until the game ends, which ever comes first). I don’t think that’s too bad. It is annoying when you crash and get locked out but that’s very rare.
having said that unless I can filter out conquest maps Id be pissed. I Leave all conquest maps on sight. Conquest bores the crap out of me
Hiding the ranks of players in the scoreboard during the match doesn’t help either as any suspicion of having a team full of low ranking players or bots is still warrants a desert there. Still that is not gonna stop players from deserting bad matches and adding punishments are going to make things worse to the point that some players would uninstall the game instead.
people that leaves are the problem, and no good exscuses can solve nor even closely address the issue.
it’s that simple really.
if you boot up the game, it’s because you are there to play.
and leaving once or twice that’s fine or be it because you crash, your computer dies whatever.
but if you leave every if not the majority of matches just because " fun " is not involved or others " factors ", those are simply poor exscuses and deserve every single consequences to it.
you might not have selected the match and what not. but the others in the match that are trying didn’t asked you to leave either or get to play with wannabe players ( aka, bots replacer ).
so if you don’t care about your teammates, the game nor devs should care about your complaining while you are infraging the good sport code.
i see that people are really afraid to pull up the weight.
the right discussion would be to adress the xps in case people lose but did really good. instead of incentivize kitten’s and unsportly behavior.
it doesn’t fit the whole argument of leaving because doesn’t suits you.
you are the one who propose MMS. yet are the one who leaves the most because it’s not too fun or adapt for you.

i will say that i do recognize the major issue that it will create. such as making try harders play against tryharders. as latter equipment will eventually bring.
but that’s another discussion related to another issue.

but as a sport, because after all, games are somewhat of a sport.
it’s about duty, playS, and respect the opponents as well as your allies.
granted, teamsport can be questionable in term of cooperations with your teammates and on a whole tangent there.
but it’s not healthy to no one to incentivize quitters. even less for the game company as well as many people feels the anger and unfairness when you are left with bots against overwhelming forces.
which to conclude,
i don’t… really mind people leaving. as i often play and mind or care about what i do. not what the others do. but do i do not commend it ( nor should be ).
and therefore am favor for punishments as long the trend will get reduced.
as many people gets more vocal than i do. for all sort of reasons.
And it’s the way to go, and the right and only direction. But, I m not gonna waste my time, on a video game on a match that just isn’t worth or I m not enjoying.
which i’m more for integrity in the base game, and pleasures in the custom games.
that’s the main difference.
you would be more exscuses in custom games.
it is more understandable in the custom games when it comes to fun and what not.
but not in the base game as again, it calls for integrity.
therefore, you ( just as me or anyone else ) will and has to be punished. because you decided to play the normal matchmaker for then leave instead of custom matches.
leaving others players in a downside position.
therefore, whether you like it or not, you should get punished for the damage.
on the other hand, i don’t feel like you should be punished in custom games because there, makes more sense if you don’t know about the settings and mods included. which if those then do not suits your taste nor style, all reasons to it for leaving.
as it’s not the main thing or part of the game, but players related.
the same cannot be due to the matchmaker it’s what i’m saying.
( or so i think. my opinion. which i do not think it’s better. though i think it’s more neutral and respectfull towards those who stays and the flow of the match instead of negatively effect it in the worse terms )
