So, as much as I love the refreshing change that Demolition mode has brought, it needs some reworking.
Some of the objectives are difficult to clear out, and once done, the set up time for the attacking side combined with the delay can prove too much.
Most games don’t get past the first two objectives, or just get derailed by one particular objective.
It also seems that the disarm time is much quicker than the setup.
The mode is quickly becoming stale and now usually gets skipped over because its such a rare victory that it’s not worth the time.
As for me, this mode is much easier (as attacker side) than the Assault mode, which that one is really broken on balance.
Destruction mode is much more easier, even if it looks like “Assault”, but you can choose which one to attack. And concentrate on one, defend it, then go to the other one. While Assault, you have to defend both one.
If you ever played RO2 series, most maps with both objects activated, as long as you captured you, that one goes deactivated. Also RO2 has the destruction objects, mixed with human captured objects. Much more fun.
Never played it and no idea why people always bring it up.
Its more of the fact you could easily spend 400 tickets taking an objective and get no compensation, teams in this game arent good enough for these heavily reliant modes.
If stuck at certain objects too much, you can ask devs to do like tweaking capture time length, change the time of plant/disarm timer.
As far as I played, both axis and allies, it seems do a bit favor defender.
Not really due gear but rather the way how the Itals play.
They just camp all the time. Makes sense since they have better scoped rifles than the Allies but its easier for me to bomb the radios.
Nope, is due to Axis get really poor gears and makes less “axis main” players to play this campaign, and so it always lacking players in axis side. Then the balance is more prefer to allies more.
If only we gave every Axis soldier StG44s, Tiger IIs and ceramic body armor they could actually win a game against the OP allies. Its NEVER the players fault
Yeah, this is my experience, on every game mode in Tunisia, the allies seem to win I would say 7-8 times out of 10, so I play allies exclusively. The axis have better tanks for the most part but that seems to be where it ends
Well, good for you.
But I rarely win this mode, because either the team cannot hold the points, or because we never even get close.
The mode is seriously in favour of the defenders with the much superior disarm time and positions the make it difficult hold.
Never played it and no idea why people always bring it up
Then perhaps you should play it to see why people always bring it up in these forums. There’s a reason why a lot of us hold RO2(and RO/RS as well) with such high regard.
Edit: Also yeah I agree with what you said here. As much as I too like the change the new mode brings, it does feel way too tedious and difficult for the attacking side. Also, the obj itself does feel like a tedious tug of war more than anything else. Some reworking and perhaps mixing of objectives could be nice for the mode to make it more palpatable.
I don’t disagree, the time it takes the attacker to arm versus the defender to disarm seems wildly disproportionate and should probably be balanced out
