So, here we are. Yet another lackluster “Major” Update and another polarizing event.
Besides a double barreled shotgun for the Japanese with a bayonet, that looks similar to the TOZ-B and Luftwaffe Drilling (sounds like them too) and 3 mistiered vehicles, we didn’t get anything new. The Thompson for the Americans was already in the game, not only that, but it used to be sold for real money and now it’s free. No new map, just a reworking of an old map, which I do like, but most maps would need to be reworked. Let’s not even mention the Premium vehicles and squads. A Soviet squad which, besides that grenade launcher, has no new weapon, just a recolored SVT-40. A Japanese paratrooper squad that has a Type 100 with a bipod. Two tanks that were simply ported over from your other game and you ask 50$ for them.
Your attempts to make bullet holes and explosion are worthless when we have core issues with the game, such as bad matchmaking, terrible server connections, a jumbled mess of a Tech Tree for most nations, bad AI and the list could go on. Instead of focusing on how detailed you can make bulletholes to be, you should focus your attention on the real issues. This isn’t a Major Update, it’s just a patch that took you months.
The event. I understand some people enjoy it. I wish I was one of those people. To me, it feels rushed and not well thought out. The same issues plague us from the last event. Terrible squad compositions, badly perked soldiers and now, on top of those, we only have one map to play on with one FLAWED gamemode for 8 DAYS. Match after match, nothing changes. Just bashing your head against the wall over and over again. There was no need for this event to be like this. Well, we know why it’s like this. So you can sell boosters. The D-Day event, which was, without undermining the importance of Market Garden was a far more important operation got the same treatment as other events. You play the game however you want, earn scores and get rewards. But after the Soviet - Japanese event you saw that you can make a quick buck with practically zero effort by selling boosters and you stuck with this formula. Frankly, I wouldn’t be surprised if most bigger events from now on will continue to be like this. You couldn’t even be bothered to give us another MKb.
I understand it’s a free to play game and you have to make money somehow, but whoever is responsible for these decisions, you’re running the game into the ground for a quick buck. Instead of advertising the game, fixing core issues to make the game more fun, giving new players more of an insentive to join (longer premium time, more silver, retired weapons and squads, etc.) you’re trying to milk the existing playerbase to the last drop. This game could be even bigger than War Thunder, yet you’re refusing to spend some time working on it to make it grow.
