My guess is that they were actually named different things IRL, if you could provide the divisions I could double check their regiments
although this not a standalone example, that I know for sure.
I dont understand why we cant just have ‘recon squad’ ‘rifleman squad’ ‘machine gun squad’ etc. rather than real units. They got rid of historical accuracy a while ago and the weapons/battles they participate in are completely incorrect.
So we should just get as I said for example ‘assault squad’ and then for Allies you can choose USA, UK, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, British India or South Africa uniform.

Yeah I feel you a bit there, I mean I really like the different names, keeps me more engaged and immersed. but what is is annoying is the uniforms.
For example when you unlock the assaulter 2 squad (M1 Thompson) for the allies, its a British infantry squad, the main issue for me being there is all the weapons your encouraged to use are not British, and even if they were issued to some British units, it still throws me off a bit, especially since the none assaulters either have to use American weapons or weapons from a br below.
I think a nice solution would just to be give players 2 squads there, both assaulter 2, but your able to swap to a commonwealth or American unit then. The Germans ofc could have Italian counterparts. Japan and the USSR thankfully are more uniform there. And im not asking for a complete new models here, just reuse the models already in game, but at least give us the option to pick. I for one would love to make an all Italian lineup or etc.
Yeah I feel you there, I go the extra step to take worse weapons just so I can feel a little more immersed. Like I hate the M1 carbine, but I guess thats my only option at BR2 for American squads.

Nuts like us sometimes make historically accurate armies, IE I made the Panzer Gruppen 2 at the time of June 1941 because I had enough squads for it. now since I can no longer get more squads I am pissed and agree that they could become generic, BUT I am hoping that we can get all these old squads and whatnot through legacy boxes or something like that.
Real, I make most of my soldiers run Kar98ks in BR 1-3 (not so often at high tier). It actually not as bad as it could be, it’s still a great gun.

Yeah like I make the carbine work, its just really annoying to me I have no longer range option, often I take unnecessary loses because of it as I have to line up headshots at range with the M1, which if youve used it, I’m sure you know has horrendous accuracy at range.
Yeah I’m the same, the Kar98 is perfectly serviceable rifle as well. Only bolt actions I avoid are the type 98 and the early moist nuggets, which oddly enough, are about as effective as as moist nuggets.
For Germany they have a “Tank Corps” and a “Panzer Division” I believe
