Later versions had no Vickers Mk V guns, but had provision for 2 × 0.303 (7.7 mm) Browning Mk II machine guns mounted under the outer wing panels.[64]

Prototype two-seat export combat aircraft similar to BC-1A(1579). The NA-44 was the prototype of a series of light bombers for states with a low budget. It could carry four .30 Mgs in the wings and one in the rear. Later models partially did not not mount them, but all could. First model with all metal, monocoque fuselage construction. Another innovation came in the form of integral fuel tanks, totaling 170 US gallons. Had still the original wing form of the NA-16. Later models changed that except the Peruan fighters. (1578)
