is it possible for a map creator to set up the map so it automatically takes weapons away and replaces them with something else on a player that joins the match?
because if not, it should be a thing, so for example the ww1 map doesnt get ruined by ww2 or modern weapons, or if someone wants to play a custom user created match without certain weapons or equipment.
I don’t think it’s possible but it should be added
FaceTac already tried this by making a ww1 map with ww1 weapons at the spawn but this was immediately ruined by people running around with STG and PPSh forcing everyone else to use end game weapons instead of ww1 ones
Custom matches are currently loaded with players using Normandy and Berlin weapons because late war campaigns have the strongest guns
Yes. It’s possible if you add gun game entity and put around map pickable weapons.
Don’t fogot to config gun game: remove almost all levels and give knife to everyone and also set kill requries to 999.
But yeah… It isn’t best way, because here still gun game hud elements… But probably currently time it’s only one way to do it.
Other way (custom profile/squad settings for everybody) is better, but currently time we can’t download files so don’t works in multiplayer.

i did think of something like that, but it only works for primary weapons, i dont think it works for secondary or sidearm, so players would (if they give a damn that much) would equip powerful secondary weapon, and they’d get around the weapon removal system.

Well… I think then you can add custom_profile from even fight event or gun game.
Gun game profile contains only 1 soldier without any equipment.
Best solution if you plan do lone fighters.
Even fight contains soldier with some equipment, but without secondary or sidearm weapons.
If you add gun game mechanic then you can remove main weapon.
i mean that could be done but what if i, lets say want to make sure that in a ww1 custom match, every player enters the match being equipped with p08 luger, gewehr 98, and a grenade. is it possible to set up such a custom profile or is it strictly just empty
As I said… Currently time it’s possible only for local game. In multiplayer…
You can do it by other ways (clean soldier or empty one soldier and pickups).

currently, there’s no other way.
beside those two.
which you can then technically rework.
for example, create a bot profile ( since the player profile does not work currently ) give each team some uniform and weapons, and then lay down some spawners of clothing and weapons. so you can somewhat make up for that.
meaning that the bots will spawn with the right equipment, and players will have to make up for that by grabbing from the ground the stuff needed.
