Custom content support for modders

Custom content support for modders is a lifeline for many games and it enchances the expiriance in general.

Quoting an exceptionally smart person here - see we can be friends

Edit: if it wasn’t clear, there defo should be more modding support <3

do you mean specifically the ability to put in custom assets through modding.

yes.

through CDKs, ( and mostly max 3d ),
would allow us to upload custom content, make more refined maps, add uniforms, vehicles and much more.

not just limited to ww2, but above and beyond;

but, there are many limitations and cannot be currently played online.

so yeah, more supports, more guide and more improvements would allow more people to contribute and make whatever they want.

without leaving the community hanging stranded between each update ( … like currently ).

I was just about to suggest this exact thing lol. I just finished a custom match with the ‘Enlisted 40K’ mod and was really disappointed honestly. And it’s really no fault of the modders themselves, it’s moreso that you’re entirely limited by what’s already in the game.
Sure, you can take the laser guns and walkers from the April Fool’s events and put them into the game, but imagine how insanely fun it would be if we could have actual lasguns or Leman Russ tanks or even full on Space Marines.
I know it might not be one of the most obvious things but I really do think adding custom content support would breathe new life into the game. I play pretty infrequently, maybe about two or three times a month, but if I could open the game and hop into a custom lobby and play around in what’s essentially the only available large-scale multiplayer experience for my favorite universe I’d be on daily, and I’m sure many other people would be to.

I heard that users don’t have access to the game’s skeletal animation. Is it possible to create custom uniforms without it?

with a hipotetical official SDK,
we could.

but even now, it is technically possible to access animations through other means.

which i can’t and won’t really discuss, as i don’t want to be made yet another example like Bazsi37 :frowning:

It turns out that if someone knows how to create custom uniforms, it’s better for them not to tell anyone about it.

There’s not a sdk? Wild

as far as we know,

and last time we were told ( around 2 years ago. by a developer no less. ), an SDK was being worked on.
and internally, they do have something like that.

but much like the " promised " features for custom games and the editor, that one also failed to show up.

much like the equipment selector, custom content, multi team per lobby, scripts, and on and on.

It’s already clear that no one will do this or fulfill their old promises. From now on, they’ll simply pursue actions that will generate maximum profit with minimal effort, without developing the project in any way.

What I’d want most would be the ability to upload a render of a weapon in both firing animation and static non fired mode. Basically the ability to make a weapon look as good and preform visually the same as a developer made gun.

Doing this we can add so many weapons, it would also be nice to get a clearer idea of what each editor stat card item means and what makes it more positive and negative when stats are changed.

First thing I did was add the 3 extra rounds to the Ithaca and up the reload by 1 second for a zombies map. Still left with the tube looking like it has 4 rounds, as we have no option to change the model.
