Current Problems

I feel that currently there are several problems with this game that are ruining my experience with this game.
The first problem is overall balance. I understand that the game is still fresh out of closed beta and still is getting worked on, but the balance issue is bad right now. Currently one side is always favored over the other. Lets use Normandy as a example. From my experience its easy to say that America is the one being favored. The American 9mm guns such as the M3 and Thompson easily out match their German counterparts. The MP 34 and FNAB usually have to dump 5+ bullet into a enemy for a kill while a M3 (not M3A1) can do it with 2. Then theirs the Garand, by far the best rifle in the game. Its rival, the Gewher 43 can match it in close duels. But the Garand is superior at any range with its ability to always one tap enemies. The M series Carbines also fit into this category. Lastly there is the armor problem. The most common tank fielded by the Americans is the M4A3E2 Jumbo. A monster that is immune to a Tiger. Its most common opponent is the Puma and Pz III N, tanks that have no hope of harming it from the front. Even the Up-gunned Pz IV’s can’t scratch a Jumbo. A widely used tactic by jumbo drivers is to park themselves on the edge of the battle and snipe. Any tank that attempts to flank the Jumbo will either die by its gun, by soldiers with AT weapons or by being out of bounds. The one way a Jumbo can be dealt with is by aircraft, but even then the chances of said aircraft killing the tank is low as it comes down to the skill of the pilot and whether or not he is effective.
Another problem I would like to address is the amount of hacking I have seen so far. An easy way to tell a AI and a player apart is movement. A player will move more sporadic than a AI and is overall smarter. Its certainly not fun when I run into a player who has the telltale signs of a aimbot. Always snapping to targets and eliminating them with powerful weapons (again going back to the balance issue). But the amount of these players I run into is bad. I usually run into one hacker every other match, some times after 2 matches. Hackers can be very dangerous to a games life, no need to look farther than TF2 to see what I mean.
The last few problems are minut in detail but should be Included. First, buildings are way to dark, such as the mansion in the Normandy campaign. Its difficult to see anything as soldiers can easily blend in with the dark. It also unrealistic for a building with many windows to be very dark. another problem is with the AI. They’re incompetent but also too effective. While their pathfinding and intelligence during battle can best be said as mindless, their aim puts Simo Hayha to shame. Their accuracy is beyond pin point. The last issue I feel like that should be addressed is ghost rounds. I keep encountering this issue where I shoot my gun, see the round hit the enemy, but does no damage. It either goes through them completely, or registers with a hit (by blood spewing out) but does no damage. Anyone who plays War Thunder and encounters it version of this glitch (ghost shells) will say that its infuriating to deal with. Especially when you put a 7.62 bullet into a persons head and he keeps running as if he was never hit.
I believe this game is one of the best I have ever played. I can certainly say I’m hooked playing it. But the problems I mentioned are degrading the experience I am having with it right now. I only want to see this game thrive and become what its meant to be, the greatest ww2 game ever made.

I’m an American main player who plays German quite often on Normandy.

No… FNAB43 doesn’t need 5+ rounds for a kill. I kill as easily with it as the American counterparts. I’ve had a guy clear the room of 3 US ‘players’ with his FNAB. We never even got a shot off that I can tell.

Garand is better, no argument. Garand is not a one shot long range killer any more than the Gewher. Small edge to Garand.

Carbines are definitely multi-shot kill weapons. M1 is especially bad for requiring multiple shots. M2 is better because it can fire full-auto so it gets multiple shots quicker.

Jumbo is better than Axis tanks… except Panzer III seems to be hyper-juiced for some reason.

Axis LMG is defnitely better than Allied counterparts… by a good margin.
Kar98s are better than US counterparts in action.

Axis seems to have issues with bad players and/or bots. They normally win the fail-strategy battle 2/3 of the matches I’m involved in regardless of which side I’m playing. German teams normally do some of the dumbest stuff like everyone attacking Bravo the whole match on conquest, everyone running directly to the cap on invasion (no concept of flanks/crossfire), etc.

Alright I was typing a massive reply to your wall of text. I decided against it.
You are extremely biased it fucking stupid. Not worth anyones time to argue that out of you.

Germany has way better gear in Normandy. The only thing the US has over Germany is the Jumbo. On all other fronts the Germans are on par or far far ahead of the US (think MG42/34 which you didnt even mention or the FG42 that you conveniantly forgot to compare when you said the M1/2 are to strong).

Its the German playerbase and the advantage attackers currently have in the game. Not the gear people are using.

Ghost bullets are annoying, should be fixed.
Hackers, have 1000+ hours and not seen a hacker yet.

The main problem is when they release a Berlin-balancing update and you lose two points in two minutes right after

I’ve seen one just a couple minutes ago. I wanted to defend my cap-point and camped without shooting on the rails, so enemy can pass me and then I can shoot them from behind. A guy used two mounted GL shots to kill me from my left. So, shot on purpose. None of my mates were near to trigger him.

Actually that happend on the other side of station. But no difference at all.

I can see your point. I do agree the recoil of everything over LMG needs fixing. The main reason why I didn’t include the MGs and FG is because I don’t see them. I have never seen a FG42 and a MG34 in a match. I’ve seen a MG42 like twice, with the exception of the stationary ones. There probably out there but in the NA sever I don’t see these weapons.

because they aren’t firing 9mm they are firing .45 ACP which is 11x23mm while mp40 firings 9x19mm
so of course the bigger bullet hits harder than the smaller one

um the m1 and m2 carbines are universal consider to be bad due to higher recoil and low damage making them unusable outside of maybe 10 meters, oh they are firing .30 carbine
and here are some pictures

Now I see why. should have done some research before I typed my original thing. But when I meant “German counterpart”, I forgot to put an s at the end. I was referencing the MP 34 and FNAB rather than the MP 40.

i know what you meant though the points still remains that the hit power of the .45 ACP is because it’s a larger bullet though 2 interesting facts is that m3 grease shoots slower than FNAB while m3a1 shoots barely faster and a full starred m3a1 hits harder than a full starred m1 carbine with nade launcher

I agree with your point.

That makes sense now. Also when I meant the M Series, I should have said the M2A1. I’ve seen it a few times and I get mowed down by it. But its a rifle and it makes sense for it punch hard. The whole thing I typed was a rant of sorts. I was mainly upset at the Garand and Browning rather than the Smgs and carbines.

Ah, here we go again… I’ve met, like three hackers in my whole time playing this game. Ok, maybe not 3, but definitely fewer than 10.
And even then, except for one very obvious EAC/VAC case, I am not 100% sure they were hacking or simply got mad skills/extremely lucky.
A hacker every match? Come on, bud

Your right, I don’t encounter them every match. I didn’t see any yesterday. But once in a while I see this suspicious one. Such as a player I saw earlier who used a Browning and was very snappy when shooting at enemies. He even killed me up close and then snapped 180 to headshot my last surviving soldier that was behind a bush. There probably aren’t many hackers in the game but it sucks when I deal with them.

Ok, so, essentially, what you are saying is that there are hackers in this game. And yes, there are. Just like in any other online FPS.
I do hope Easyanticheat will be replaced with some other solution some time in the future, though. But even if/then, there will always be some hackers.

i dont have an issue with the blast range of bombs, i have an issue with the volume of themtoo many plane whores and too many sweats with tnt

God Bless.

I agree with list

agreed.

i had fight/match against you a few days ago in berlin, was a good match. you killed me a couple of times! you are a worthy opponent.

Ha-ha, I remember
I believe, your kill count was in the 90’s, while mine was in low 40’s. I just couldn’t keep up with your reaction speed. But I’m telling myself it’s because of the ping, not because I suck.
Btw, been meaning to ask you, when you shot down my IL-2, were you in a Stuka or in a BF-109? Cause that was freaking instant - I’m flying to rearm after a successfull bombing run, being smart, flying low so as to not attract any unnecessary attention, and then the next second just “br-r-r-r-r”, and my plane goes: “can’t update damage display fast enough, so just “everything is fecked” will have to do”
