For starters: This is not a complaint, I am not asking for changes, I just think this is weird and don’t know why things are different like this.
The MKB42(h)/MP43 has significantly different stats between the sniper and non-sniper variants, as well as different stats for both in Stalingrad vs previous campaigns, and I can’t think of why that would be the case.
moscow
normandy
berlin
Stalingrad - engineers
Stalingrad - Sniper
Why do both STG44 variants in Stalingrad recoil harder than the other versions in other campaigns, especially the MKB42(h) Sniper variant in Moscow, which should be the same weapon? Why is the rate of fire on the sniper variants higher, and why to the upgrades for them increase hit power by a whole point (20% vs 10% for the others)?
I just think it’s weird.
Balance reasons altough I dont get the nerf of the MP43 in Normandy.
Plus, the nerf performed on the MKB42 in Stalingrad actually helped to improve the performance.
But honestly: I dont think that the devs thought this through.
In every sense, yes.

So they Nerf the MKb in Stalingrad?
It feels so bad
That scope matters a lot apparently though the recoil thing is just a Stalingrad thing as all weapons got an increase of recoil
And buffed it too since it’s the most accurate rifle ingame and it feels so good using it
That was my initial thought, but putting the scope on the version that has a higher rate of fire feels…gross. The sniper variant should be less accurate with those stats, but hits harder. I just can’t make my brain accept the difference, it feels like nonsense.
I will say, they’re both fun and easy to use. I haven’t unlocked the ones in the other campaigns yet, since I usually main allies, but now that I’ve finished both sides of stalingrad, and allied sides for the others save Tunisia, I’ll probably start working on Axis elsewhere.

They nerfed it? When did they do so and what was nerfed?
Becaouse Stalingrad is weird and everything is different there.
As for snipers, it used to be the same, but then gaijins nerfed the assaulter versions for no reason.
They did? What changed? As far as I can tell, it’s easier to use than the sniper version because of it’s reduced fire rate.
In comparison to the MP43. Sorry should have added that.

They got rid of the rof upgrades and drastically lowered how much damage they get for upgrading.
They only did this for the regular, non sniper versions
Aaah you mean the mkb got a slower rof than mp43?
I thought you meant they nerfed the mkb42h assaulter after it got out. It’s fine the way it is I’d say
thought the mp43 could use less dispersion.
I say that if you put a select fire onto semi automatic then you should have a lower dispersion value like for example the m2 carbine has a value of .55 normally (worse than fg42) but if you put it on semi automatic then it should have one of .45
I’m really just not a fan of the random, too wide shot dispersion in the game. It’s particularly bad with SMGs and MGs, I guess also assault rifles. Bullets should be coming straight out of the barrel, and any dispersion should be induced by recoil or player movement. Watching bullets come out of my DP28 at a 15 degree angle grinds my gun nerd gears.
Nah… it shouldn’t be dispersion, but recoil. Take the Czech semi in Stalingrad. It’s perfect. You can achieve precise shots if you take your time, but when you mag dump click in cqb, it goes all over. It’s how it should really be.
