Hello bajtársak and fellow forumdwellers,
We are all familiar with the legendary Tiger II tanks of the game: the Tiger II (H) with the heavier more armoured turret and the Tiger II (P) with its curvy turret.
If you have played War Thunder in the past year, you have probably noticed that unlike in Enlisted, these vehicles are called:
Tiger II (H): Tiger II in War Thunder
Tiger II (P): Tiger II (Nr.1-50)
That is because Tiger II (H) and (P) refers to the turret being different on the tank.
H stands for Henschel and P for Porsche, however neither Henschel or Porsche had designed these turrets, both turrets were designed by Krupp.
The turret of the Tiger II (Nr.1-50)/(P) was designed by Krupp for a tank project of Porsche, however it was cancelled with 50 turrets left over which were mounted on Tiger II hulls instead, the hull of the Tiger II was designed by Henschel hence the origin of the (H) designation. Porsche has basically nothing to do with the “Tiger II (P)”
Oberkommando der Wehrmacht had no official designations for these two vehicles and both vehicles were simply “Tiger II” and the (H) and (P) markings were catchy post war inventions to help differentiate, however the P for Porsche is simply wrong, while the H after the Tiger is somewhat weird.
It would a lot better if they had the same as they do in War Thunder.
This change was made in War Thunder in the Tusk Force 2.49 update (October of 2025)
I was hoping that the developers would correct the names of both tanks on their own initiative, however after a year of waiting, I lost my patience.
