Constructive Feedback on Squad BOT members

Hello.

This is just a quick feedback on the BOT controlled members of the squad you are controlling or in other peoples squads in regards to their somewhat questionable behaviour.

On the whole, No polite way to say this, they are quite stupid in their actions and inactions.

  1. BOT Inability to use terrain to remain out of sight even when ordered to defend an area in cover…the amount of times I have located a good snipers spot and go prone or kneel to then see my BOTS jumping up and down and generally doing their best to be a bullet magnet.

  2. BOT inability to not stand directly in front of the player at the critical moment. Normally in or around buildings, but to be honest, I believe the BOTS are doing it on purpose now to get you killed.

  3. Survival Instinct is currently worse than a suicidal lemming. Example. Player gets gunned down crossing a street by an MG…the entire BOT squad then continues to run towards the downed player to apparently teabag him and gets directly into the sights of the MG so your killed as soon as you switch team members…every single time.

  4. Most annoying combat voices ever. Specifically American voices shouting " Yee Ha " is not morale boosting, it does quite the opposite.

Only a few points, but they do annoy me and to be honest most those points can be attributed to the average human player that you tend to have the misfortune having on your team on a regular basis.

After spawning and moving towards the point, I constantly order them to different safety spots.
When I’m 40-60 meters from the point, I look to order them behind a wall that is between tem and the point. Then I just use the survivors as re-spawn points. For me they generally aren’t running all over and interfering with my LOF.

When I started playing Enlisted I was trying to protect my lives as much as I could but unfortunately this game currently rewards a somewhat suicidal attitude more with the infinite defender tickets. So instead of keeping bots as backup sometimes I send ahead my lemmings, then watch where they get shot down from, and deal with the source myself. But most often as not being able to issue a “continue building” command (would be an easy task to implement for engineers), before I begin building I send them forward to the cap point (which can be targeted through walls and hills and everything) so by the time the rally is up, my other soldiers are withing 20-30 m of the objective, hopefully still alive.

The other tactics that exists but I don’t like much is what @8383908 employs, putting away the bots in an attic, an extreme version of what you mentioned.

Also if you run in the woods and pay attention to the bots, they are sometimes super scouts seeing through everything and if lucky, pinpoint you the location where the enemy is shooting from.

I don’t get my bots stuck deliberately, but it only 1 does I won’t complain or bother freeing it.

What I do for squad layouts is use large, cheap squads for defense and small, effective squads for offense.

The large squads like rifle and SMG squads I just use to throw bodies at the attackers after using the in-squad engineers to fortify.

The small squads like radio and LMG squads I use to push more effectively with lower losses.

Only effective if someone builds rally points 40-80 meters from the objective. If no rally points it can be a long run to point and just a couple of enemy can cap.

Yes, that’s a must. And if attacker fails to destroy nearby defender spawns, there’s no much chance for them winning, except with good players. But good players will probably destroy nearby enemy rally points once they notice the pattern.

Ok then it was a misunderstanding on my side, supported by the fact you changed your nick to said tactic (or wasn’t it changed?). I thought you are on an attic crusade of some sort. Which although I don’t like, but not that much against it either, as they are safer than ground level rallies.

(Just wished to have spawn points colour-coded on map if bots can’t get out on their own.)

changed it months ago for a thread where someone was complaining about offensive nicknames, but it took eons for the forum to sync my name up.

But it does work out great on the occasion I do play Moscow and like to camp out on top staving off Germans
