Confrontation rework

its clear that this game mode needs a rework so its not a rebranded attack/defence.

what i suggest is that there should be a 5-10 minute countdown after capturing or losing all control points before the game is ended, this countdown can stop if allied team manages to re-capture a lost sector from the enemy, or if they manage to hold all of their control points till the countdown ends.

game mechanic for all control points captured:

capturing all control points will not end the game immediatly, instead the 5-10 minute countdown will start and the team will have to hold the captured control points for those 5-10 minutes before the game ends.
if their control point gets captured during that countdown the timer will reset.

game mechanic for all control points lost:

losing all control points wont end the game immediatly, instead the 5-10 minute countdown will begin, and the team will have to capture a control point during those 5-10 minutes before the game ends
if they dont manage to capture a control point, they lose.
if they do, the countdown ends.

the last control point wont be temporarily locked like the others, instead it will be immediatly available to be captured by the enemy, this is in order to prevent losing time from the countdown due to the temporarily locked zone countdown.

i got this idea from the fact that every game is the same, as soon as you capture the last control point, everyone immediatly relaxes and starts shooting guns into the skies as a celebration.
but with this rework, they wont be as relaxed.

after capturing all of the control points, its normal that the enemy will immediatly try to re-capture their lost areas, which is something that many players have attempted but that defeat screen prevents them from doing it, this rework will give them a opportunity to do so

I like that, the enemy team should be pushed back to some final spawn and they can try to recapture the point.

Nope, it doesn’t. Majority of people just don’t understand how it works. That’s the problem.

whats there to not understand, its a tug of war. and its generic af. needs some chances

Confrontation is my new fav

The last point was the last stand. If you lost it, it is over

I like confrontation mode, tho it is a bit goofy when you cannot go past the second point and as you count as an attacker over and over you end up losing even while your team was the only one really making a progress, I mean like you capture the first objective, then you go for the second, and the enemy team defends it, you lose it, go back to the first one, win it, go back to the second, lose it, and over and over and over again until you lose, thats what I dont like

See I sort of like that. Means you have to adapt tactics.

If you cant take a point from the enemy, you straight away need to slow it down so you don’t take many losses and switch to making them take attrition. (Can be hard to do when your team mates don’t understand what’s going on, But I have won many games just by killing en masse, and not trying to assault a point repeatedly we aren’t making headway on).

I do like it when it is not counter intuitive

Confrontation mode is already long enough because of two team capture the point back and forth. Now you want to making it become longer and tiring by implementing this mechanic?

yes. otherwise confrontation is just another attack and defend mixed together

tho the option to attack again should be a option after losing all the control points, because after all we’re battling in some of the major and important battles like stalingrad, berlin and so on. those areas shouldnt fall easily. so if all control points are lost there shouldnt be '‘mission failed, we’ll get ‘em next time’’ no instead its get up with what you have left and go back and attack.
