True, the frequency of concussion has been reduced. Very slightly. Just revert it back to pre-stalingrad levels already. What’s the problem? Nobody with a working brain wants to play a game where you spend half the time being unable to line up a shot. Also, the german MG recoil on stalingrad is still (i suspect at least) bugged. Russian MGs have a recoil value of ~0.3 or ~0.4. German MGs are up to ~1.8. I can only assume this is a typo, because guns don’t recoil downwards. Is it so hard to proofread your code?
Seconded. This change was bad and as many have said it actually makes it physically uncomfortable to play the game.
I also suspect it’s one of the reasons why defender win rates have become so bad, and why Russians in Stalingrad have very poor win rates.
If you’re defending the objective, you’re spending the entire game concussed. Tanks, Arty, grenades are keeping the defender on the point in a constant wobble and that badly effects aim.
I really only got to see this firsthand when I finished the German campaign in Stalingrad and switched to Russians. My win rate as Russia is 30% compared to 89% Germans and I feel part of this is due to the fact that I just simply can’t hit anything if I do my typical style and stay on the point to defend.
True. I also believe it’s why so many people have decided to do nothing but sit in the grey zone and snipe i.e. if one isn’t near the action, one can’t be concussed.
Its amazing how this change made the game phisically uncomfortable to play. Also they introduced a brand new way for bad players to grief their own teams. cool.
Agreed, the concussion change is ridiculous. I havn’t played Stalingrad yet, I’m still playing Berlin because to be honest I just don’t feel like grinding another campaign right now. Playing as the defending team tonight on Seelow, first objective “Village House” was a nightmare to be even in close proximity to it. My first two squads just spent the entire time unable to aim and just stumble around like they found the hidden Vodka stash in the cellar or something.
Only way to play it, is to stay back or on the flanks and attack as the enemy advances, and even in games where you’re the attacker and the enemy team bombards their own objective. Again, constant concussion. Of all the improvements they’ve made, this is not one of them.
Sorry for my unpopular opinion, but I like it very much. It offers new tactical options. Flanking is even more important now, to get out of the heat of the battle. Also the stamina reduction while aiming with MGs and AT weapons is a great improvement. And yes they have to improve the bipods placements. This is Enlisted and not CoD were you can run & gun with MGs!
new tactical options like sitting in buildings and the spawn with sniper rifles being boring. flanking will get you to the point slower and once you’re there you will still get concussed, you’re missing the point. it doesn’t offer ‘new options’ it takes them away by making everyone spam HE even more to concuss the enemy team and staying away from the point
why does everyone say ‘this isn’t cod’ as if cod isn’t a better game (technically speaking)
