Then make it something only actual players can do. OR give AI a -70% accuracy or range penalty.
I think the system is just fine as is, if you allow handgun usage whilst downed you will have to focus on finishing people before shooting someone else
But realistically, this isnt much different than the medpack usage speed perk. You never know if someone will have it and pop back up to shoot you.
If you can have a choice of either being able to move and heal or stationary and firing your pistol, it would create more options for players.
And if pistols are as bad as people say, then I doubt youd get instashot from someone who is downed unless theyre right in front of you, survived the shot, lived long enough to drop and pull out their pistol and then firing back. Thats plenty of time to recognize whats going on and finish the kill.
Add the P38 for Axis in Tunisia. Germany there is missing it’s standard pistol for WW2.
The frigging price of P38 for 2 bronze orders elsewhere are making me refuse to buy them, while the damn Walther police pistol only costs 1. Are all German soldiers policemen?
In addition, if you shot a German with a Nagant revolver while roleplaying as a Soviet officer leading a infantry charge, and the shot German shoots back and kill your bullet was made of rubber, it feels bad.
I would like the addition of an extra hitbox in the center of the soldier’s body, and if you get hit there, you receive 1.5x damage. Then the Nagant’s damage still has to be buffed a bit to make downing an enemy soldier within 10 meters of you with one hit feasible.
I have always thought of the pistol in this game as something like an ornament. I interpreted it as something you buy for self-gratification with little strategic advantage on the battlefield. I also believe that defeating the enemy with such items should be “challenging”.
As a matter of fact, there is a “5 kills with pistol” task on the Battle Pass. This means that the pistol kill itself is set as a challenging task. I am happy with the pistol as it is.

Thats kind of the point. Right now the only way they are a threat is if they have a specific perk to speed up healing, or if they try to kill you and themselves with a grenade. Lets think about this for a moment… which is more likely in reality (even though they have strayed a bit from reality):
would the soldier just say “yup thats it, im gonna frag myself and hope i kill one other guy in the process”.
OR
would he use a pistol in an attempt to protect his own life?
The absolute lack of self-preservation is one of the things that makes attacking rough, because people would rather try to suicide bomb with grenades in a downed state, than fight to revive and push on!
They will have to rework the downed pose, right now you crawl on your knees which means you can’t use a handgun logically
i wish, currently it feels like some BR game i hate it so much
IF ever the chance to fire a pistol while downed is added, there should be the mandatory tradeoff of being unable to move or heal while firing.
i like to style on my enemies by shooting them with a handgun. makes it extra embarrassing to be killed by a rather poor player
