Forums sometimes have ridiculous comments like “A large player group agrees with me!” or “No! That’s just 1% of the gamers.”
Perhaps give us a voting platform for game content, ballot items are proposed by the official, serving as a reference for developers’ opinions. To expand the survey sample, a link could be placed within the game, accompanied by a bronze order or other thing.
The opposing reasons are also clear: this could fuel populism within the community, with players potentially hijacking the content developers whant to create. And overwhelming doubts when players find that the trend of the game is different from the expectations of the playerbase.
Casual players, while making up a decent proportion of the player base, more or less are fodder for the game. I think they are fair weather players and basically don’t really care this way or that for the game. If we had this kind of voting it could end up hurting the game.
Sometimes the majority can be right and the minority can be wrong, and sometimes the minority can be right and the majority can be wrong.
I unironically believe everyone bickering on the forums is far more productive for the game than some voting.
Especially linking it into the game and offering free supplies for a couple questions. Though it would need to be a sliver weapon order, not a bronze, or players won’t even pay attention to it.
Otherwise, yeah, it could be quite beneficial to see the poll numbers both for the developers and for forum members making suggestions, so they have a more accurate idea of the playerbase reacts to certain things, not just from what they themselves have seen or believe.
