Commendation!

It is refreshing to see DF developers actually REDUCE monetary expenses on players - latest soldier system/Academy upgrade has remove a major source of income for devs - soldier upgrades.

It’s nice to see devs doing things for the players, instead of money grabs.

So I wanted to commend that, and hope more developers take this common sense approach to player base, and our requests.

Ultimately - money will be there, if the game is GOOD. So devs should focus on that - develop a quality game. Players and money will follow.

Latest update is great, on all points. So just tweaking left really.

Cheers

Yeah don’t get too comfy with that thought

Give it some time and I bet there is an option to buy silver orders with real money/golden E’s

maybe, we shall see. But seems they don’t mind reducing money flow, if player base is growing, which is an excellent idea. Focus on content, and keeping players. Money is a function of that.

Ah, but without a steady and sufficient source of silver troop orders, they’ve potentially increased revenue from silver order sales, by more than they likely lost removing the academy.

You also forget the removal of perk points

It’s a downgrade for sure and certainly not something players asked for. This new downgraded system will be such a chore to obtain desired perks that you can bet a lot of money will be poured that way from players…

Oh yes without a doubt this update will increase sales, that’s why it’s gone.
Maybe a little truth to the micro management they stated, but mostly. First money then
player retention.

** The new events tab will have missions of some kind to earn silver orders,
meaning players will need to play longer to earn them. The more a player is ingame playing
the greater the chance of them spending money.

I have no problem at all with the Free to play business model and I have spent my fair share in this game and many other FTP games in the past.

It’s just a shame this update feels rushed and incomplete sadly.

(**I’m kinda guessing but it makes sense to implement this feature when the full update hits)

agreed, i think it’s a good update and quite strange since it somewhat makes the game much " easier " and less longer in terms of lenght ( considering how was the accademy ) but i think devs knows best.

Although the academy is a very bad system, the current new development system consumes a lot of copper cards. And there is currently no increase in the way to obtain the silver card, which means that if you want to play a research and development line that you have not played, you are likely to lack the soldiers you need, or you have to accumulate the silver card until you unlock it. Use it when you want the soldiers (such as unlocking the second-level assault soldiers, obviously the skills of the second-level assaultmen are much better than those of the first-level)

thanks, yeah, we shall see how it turns out.

so far - I don’t have to pay 3 bucks, every time I want to level a guy that I like to, just from level 4 to 5. Which I had to do quite a lot. So thats already good stuff, previous system was just impossible.

cheers all

you had to, or you didn’t feel like waiting? Cuz it used to be that getting a level 5 soldier only cost two level IVs and some hours. Now, it’s hard-to-get silver orders for new troops, insane numbers of bronze orders to level them up, and yet another (more expensive) means of monetizing a game where you can already avoid the entire grind if your wallet is deep enough.
