IT IS CHRISTMAS
there are still 23 days but we start hanging up the Christmas lights in July so it makes no difference, nowadays leaving out the nasty surprises I would like to propose something for the holiday season
THE TRUCE OF CHRISTMAS
for those who don’t know
1914
in the week leading up to Christmas, members of the German and British troops deployed on opposite sides of the front began to exchange greetings and songs from their respective trenches, and occasionally individuals crossed the lines to bring gifts to soldiers on the other side; over the course of Christmas Eve and Christmas Day itself, large numbers of soldiers from German and British units (as well as, to a lesser extent, French units) spontaneously left the trenches to meet in no man’s land to fraternize, exchange food and souvenirs. In addition to celebrating common religious ceremonies and burial of the fallen, the soldiers of the two sides maintained friendly relations with each other to the point of organizing improvised football matches
OBVIOUSLY
we cannot play football matches but we can do something more interesting,
I would propose to:
-
give each soldier a Santa hat
-
disable gore
-
make every weapon / bomb / explosive shoot snowballs
-
from December 25th to January 1st there will be a minimum score of 5000xp for each player (in practice if you have finished the game you don’t have 5000xp you get them)
-
make it snow
in this way we could have Christmas-style battles without distorting the game and have fun in full Christmas style
