I have an idea for granting individual XP for engineer. I seen many times that people either don’t use this class or use it in sub-optimal (if not openly disadvantageus way for their team. I think we need to reward properly placed sandbags and headhogs.
When it comes to sandbags amount of XP should be couted by how often thay are used by teammates (eiter PC or AI) and counted in total by end of an match. If they are used by enemy team (enemy is longer in close proximity to them without dying) this additional xp should be subtracted as it means they are disadvanteagus for the team that placed them. Alternatiely we could add up how many bullets they take through the match.
When it comes to headhogs we should reward players for placing them in useful places usually indicated by destcution if they are placed really well or by reducing tank activity around them (heat map of tank crews might be optimal - before and after placing the headhog).

Engineer is one of the most OP classes in the game, right behind the assaulters with their SMGs. Their efforts in guaranteeing a win in the grand sheme of the battle, instead of single engagements, should be rewarded, yes, but it is very difficult to count how effective their buildings actually are.
through (sandbags) counting bullets that they swallowed, time allies stay in close proximity (1m or so) to them whiloe doing damage. IDK wheter or notit is possible serverwise but it would be only way to deterimne how effective they are.
Other thing is that enemy won’t remove them if they are not disadvantageus for their efforts (as it requires either time or resources) therefore that should be counted as being effective (especially headhogs). OFC if they are removed by teammate it means that they are useless of team efforts.
Engineer do need experience from use of building.
Some are easy like MG nest, AA gun, rally point. Whenever use (for example get kills with or spawn on) the engineer that do it should get XP.
Barb wire also easy - when enemy is damage by it, some XP is gain. Perhaps not a lot and definite should not tell you when XP is gain from this in field - but should still be around.
Other thing like tank trap, sandbag, etc would be very difficult and probably inconsequential in grand scheme of thing.
But bulk of XP would be from the usables anyway.
I think it should not get XP just for using it, as then you can just sit in a corner and farm XP.
Instead, XP rewards when allies use your buildings could work, with certain limitations to prevent said XP farms.
On rally point respawn could be easily abused, for example. Just commit squad suicide and spawn again. So if the reward was instead something like “when player who spawned on your rally point caps a point, you get a cap point reward as well”, that could work.
