TL;DR Add a way to defend against knife attacks.
I suggest a change in how knives work, or better put, how to defend yourself from knives. I have never fought on the Eastern Front during the Second World War, but I know that in many instances hand to hand combat was commonplace and brutal with people using their bayonets, e tools, knives, and rifle butt stocks as either edged or clubbing weapons. In these brawls, the strongest, most skilled, and/or the quickest won. However, in Enlisted, the knifing mechanic is a bit ridiculous. Basically you just go up to someone and stabby stabby them and they immediately die. I feel like it is a bit unrealistic and kind of ruins the immersion for me when a single guy runs into a building with a knife and spams his stabby stabby button and stabs a whole squad to death in a matter of seconds. I THINK IT WOULD BE WORTHWHILE TO ADD A CONTROL WHERE YOU CAN BLOCK A KNIFE ATTACK IF YOU PUSH THE BUTTON AT THE RIGHT TIME. It might be simple and a bit difficult at first, but it might be interesting and could lead to some sick hand to hand combat brawls as people fight in the trenches or in buildings with their bladed weapons as they keep blocking each other and striking at each other. Maybe you can include e tools as well.

Defending against knife is really hard irl. Best way to defend agaisnt dude that has knife is to run away.
Yeah but as well killing someone with a knife is much harder than just pressing the mouse button while you’re close to an enemy.
As was already said, defending against a knife isn’t as simple as people think. Besides, if you can react quickly enough to perform a block ingame, you might as well just bash them with your rifle stock or just shoot. Mass melee murder only works, when you manage to catch a bunch of bots from behind or indoors. If an actual player sees you stab a comrade, you’re dead. And if you get the drop on an unaware player, you deserve the kill.
The only nerf to knives I would even consider, would be adding a sort of cooldown after a kill (pulling out the kife) of about 0,5 seconds to prevent easy knife rampages through hordes of low level bots.

Yeah you might be right. Thinking about it it would be hard blocking a knife attack in real life with out at least getting stabbed in the arm. Maybe they could implement your idea with a cool down time, or make it where certain parts of the body are kills (like stabs to the face, neck, or center of mass) while getting stabbed in other parts only wound you to varying degrees depending on the body part. That way you can’t get a bunch of kills spamming the knife button in a room full of bots but have to aim your knife attacks to a varying degree.
You’re not going to instantly die to a body stab even if the wound is eventually fatal, a knife fight is deadly for both parties. The sword and the axe should offer some serious advantages though, I would not want to go up against a sword with a knife.
In addition to giving OHK’s? What else would you suggest?
Range advantage against the knife user, I don’t know if it’s already in the game but if it is I don’t really notice it.
It wouldn’t be long enough to notice anyway given the manic nature of movement in this game!!
We could add quick animation to using knife, but besides that I think that knife is balanced. Actually, higer level melee weapons could have higer range of animations trigers, or quicker animations.
