Change name of Japanese naval SMGs

Names of Japanese naval SMGs have several problems. Its minor issue but if they are changed game will be improved.

1. S1-100

  • English name seems no problem.
  • Japanese name have small problem.

In Japanese navy, this weapon was called “ス式自動拳銃 / Type Su machine pistol”. It literally means Steyr machine pistol.

Suggestion to change:

  • EN: S1-100 (no change required)
  • JP: S1-100 → ス式自動拳銃

2. MP28(7.65mm) & SIG 1920

  • English name have problems.
  • Japanese name have problems.

In Japanese navy, this weapon was called “ベ式自動拳銃 / Type Be machine pistol”. It literally means Bergmann machine pistol. This gun was called Bergmann, but actually it was SIG-Bergmann M1920, not a MP28. In addition, it used 7.63mm, not 7.65mm.
It is mostly same as SIG M1920 in Lv27 and only difference is bayonet lag. IJN modified all of them to equip 30th Year Type bayonet after import them.
I’ve never heard that IJN used SIG 1920 without bayonet, but I think it is impossible to replace or delete in-game one. Because of it, I suggest to change names of them as follows.

Suggestion to change:

  • EN: MP28(7.65mm) → SIG 1920 - - - no bayonet
  • EN: SIG 1920 → SIG 1920 (modified) - - - with bayonet
  • JP: MP28(7.65mm) → ベ式自動拳銃 - - - no bayonet
  • JP: SIG 1920 → ベ式自動拳銃(改造型) - - - with bayonet

3. Type 100 Paratrooper SMG

  • English name have a problem.
  • Japanese name have no problem.

It is variant of Type 100 SMG for the naval paratroopers. In Japanese navy, this weapon was called “一〇〇式機関短銃特型 / Type 100 machine pistol, Special type”.
In English client it have strange name, but Japanese client it have accurate name.

Suggestion to change:

  • EN: Type 100 Paratrooper SMG → Type 100 SMG Special
  • JP: 一〇〇式機関短銃特型 (no change required)

This is a list of IJN’s ground weapons and specifications. According to this book, they used four types of SMG.

  • (陸) 一〇〇式機関短銃 / (Army) Type 100 machine pistol
  • ス式自動拳銃 / Type Su machine pistol
  • ベ式自動拳銃 / Type Be machine pistol

  • 一〇〇式機関短銃特型 / Type 100 machine pistol, Special type

Notes:

  • Translation of machine pistol in the army and the navy were different. Army call it “機関短銃”, but navy call it “自動拳銃”.
  • (陸)/(Army) means it was army’s weapon. The navy received many arms supplies from the army.
  • Type 100 machine pistol, Special is takedown-type SMG for naval paratroopers.
