Carro Armato P 26/40 Italeri 510006599 - 1:35 Carro Armato P.40 Italian Heavy Tank

The P 26/40 was an Italian World War II heavy tank (sometimes defined medium tank when compared to tanks of other nations). It was armed with a 75 mm gun and an 8 mm Breda machine gun, plus another optional machine gun in an anti-aircraft mount.[3] Design had started in 1940 but very few had been built by the time Italy signed the armistice with the Allies in September 1943 and the few produced afterwards were used by the Germans.[4]

While the Axis have more German tanks then they can handle they lack Italian tanks. The 26/40 is the last mainline tank italy switching sides before they could deploy or build the 43. A heavy tank that compared more favorably to the medium tanks of other countries like the sherman. A good tank that saw more use in the german then italian army.

I would love to see this sexy tank ripped straight from warthunder and plastered into the axis tech tree. The 50mm of armor and 75mm gun would be more than good enough for br3. The tank would give the axis the variety it needs outside the rainbow of panzer 3’s and 4’s. i look forward to those that reason the 26/40 as a clear br2 tank. ![] P26/40 -

It would be awesome to have the Italian “heavy” tank (it weighs 1 ton more than a Panzer IV).
